Why NOT trade Deangelo?

What is Rivera thinking by turning down offers for him? Rivera hardly lets him go in the game, yet says he will not consider any offers. Dlo is keeping this franchise from moving forward. We need to make moves in FA this year, but we have no cap space. Does anyone have one good reason to keep him? I would be begging for anything i can get. Come on, Ron! Pathetic.

I understand the desire to trade away players right now. In any hope that it alleviates some cap space. I don't think people understand the cap trouble we are going to be in next year. Now, we all understand that trading away a player doesn't totally alleviate the cap space, but it does clear the yearly salary (non-guaranteed) from our books and there are numerous options on accelerating the bonus payments.

It comes down to this, is the market going to be better for these players in the off-season or right now? I would argue right now, before they get any older and while teams are desperate.

Well, Rivera said so himself. And why does trading away a worthless player with a huge contract make me a "turd burglar"?

Last I heard Rivera directed all trade questions to our interim GM.

You go around looking for gifs of gay dudes? Not my place to judge.

Well, he did say all trades go through him. And no, actually i just typed in stupid. But anyway I would really like to hear the reason you want to keep DeAngelo?

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
