Chud says Gettis looks "rusty"

Yes, please cut AE so he can get picked up by the Patriots and start making plays. Hard to actually contribute when you aren't on the field.

LOL...if he was actually showing something in practice, don't you think he would be getting more playing time already? Very telling when Pilares gets on the field as a WR, but AEs warming the bench.

Some players show more on gameday when their adrenaline is pumping. Same thing happens to runners... You get that extra burst and perform better. Besides, training camp reports talk about AE continually making great plays. I think he's just been looked at incorrectly in CLT. He isn't as good going up over a receiver or in traffic. But get him the ball in space a la Percy Harvin. Harvin had 27 catches behind the LOS this year and makes play after play. AE is not in Harvin's league but could be successful in a similar role.

This team need to spread teams out more. At this point, throw AE and Pilares out there and run some routes

So Chud is accessible enough to talk to reporters about Gettis, and yet not once this year, I repeat, not once have they asked him about his playcalling?

That is some bs.

Just think.......Last year we were all on pins and needles,worried that some team would hire Chud as HC and we would lose him. Shows how quickly things can change.

So true.

In fairness though, nobody expected him to fall in love with the 1 TE set and the read option to the point that we lost our offensive identity.

That may be true, but we have no idea what we're going to get with Gettis not having really done anything since August 2011. If they activate him, I hope he's still got some speed and moves out there. We definitely need someone to step up and get Murphy off the field (unless he's our fumble recovery specialist). The coaches seem content to only play three receivers, so I'm not sure that Gettis getting activated will mean he'll see the field. I just hope the guy is healthy and can still play.
