15th Ranked Defense

I hate having Nakamura as our Safety. The only thing he is good at is tackling but when it comes to coverage he's dirt. We should either give Martin another try, draft a talented FS in the 2nd round, or look into FA.

Nakamura is the equivalent of a speed bump. You just hope there is someone to actually tackle the runner.

Martin has continued to get some time and make some decent plays. He was sent on a good blitz around the corner. It's hard to judge how much time he's getting, but the fact that I don't know means he's doing something decently.

I just wish we had a FS we didn't have to worry about this much. We need a Kuechly in the secondary.

Ron Rivera is the worst coach in the world...he gets no credit for the tremendous defensive improvement...LOL...Rivera is a hell of a good defensive coach....if he gets fired by Carolina he will be hired as a DC somewhere overnight...and be a head coach again very soon and probably a successful one. People say he is not a good leader or motivator...but I saw a 1-5 team go into Chicago and play hard, motivated football. Rivera has made one glaring mistake that probably will cost him his job: trying to design an offense around Cam Newton instead of playing bread and butter football and developing his young QB just like any other young QB, warts and all. Yesterday was a good first step forward. Very little option, more power sets and Newton really seemed to stick in the pocket. He needs to work on his accuracy on short and medium routes big time....you know...those pesky little routes that don't look spectacular but get first downs...because 3rd and medium distance and Red Zone are this team's Achilles Heel. They are dead last in the NFL in 3rd down conversions which puts even more pressure on the young defense...but they are holding up well...

So you think he motivated the players, and not the fact that our GM got fired?

Oh and he's so good of a defensive coach that he forgot to get out of fuging COVER 4 THE ENTIRE LAST SERIES?!?!

defense could be even better with a little help form the O.

The offense got the lead yesterday what did the defense do? What did the defense do against atl with 50 seconds to go with atl pinned at the one yard line? Yea this defense is good.......until the game is on the line. Thank god drew Brees gave us that gift or we would be 0-7

The Panthers have played hard all year. There has not been an ounce of quit to this team.

The defense held the Bears to 210 tatal yards and 16 points. Trying to pin this loss on the defense or the DC is just hilarious.

Ron Rivera is a good enough DC to coach the Bears in a Superbowl with Rex Grossman at quarterback...

As for the final drive...sorry...ultimately the players have to make plays. Cap is P.O.'d because Rivera mad him look stupid on the sideline...And guess what...even a good defense has trouble stopping a good quarterback with plenty of time on the clock and timeouts remaining from getting in field goal position. That is what happens when you settle for 5 field goals because of your offense's inability to convert in the Red Zone.
