The Panthers do play the Eagles, Chiefs and Chargers. Reid and Norv maybe gone by them as well. (Though I think they won't be gone till year end.) Raiders & Saints are toss-ups.

So out of the last 9 games The Panthers have a 50-50 chance of winning 5 of them!

Mid-season head coach firings generally only serve to turn already bad seasons into even worse ones.

Not a huge stretch to think Rivera gets fired at the end of the year (though I still dont know if it's settled yet) but mid-season would be a mess.

or to give false hope to a somewhat successful interim coach ie Crennel and many others almost every year where the interim does better, the team keeps him and the team is poo the next year. Easiest example is Chiefs this year, plenty others in the past.
