Our boy smitty will deff win, im not so sure he got absolutely burned against Aso from Oakland hard to tell Jake had an awful day. Smitty will win though, why wouldnt he? Hes the best WR in the NFL.

Smith actually had Aso beat on that 1st int of the OAK game. Jake just threw an under thrown pass. I think if Jake was at least a little on game Smith would had about 60 yds. I mean their whole secondary played well against us.

What's funny is Steve Smith has averaged 57 receptions, 820 yards, and 5 touchdowns a year. OVERRATED. Do not ever again consider him the best wide receiver in the NFL.

Most 100 yd games for a WR since 2005. Didn't play WR until 2nd season. Broke his leg 1st game of the 04 season. He came back to win the triple crown in 05. Plays in a run oriented system where the 2nd and 3rd WRs have not consistently taken pressure off Smith since 03 when he wasn't even the #1 target. 2007 Jake goes down and takes a huge toll on Smith production and stats. 5th in receiving yards this year despite being suspended for 2 games. He's the best kid get over it.

"My arm is stronger than John Elway's and Brett Favre's." - Jay Cutler

Well considering John is 23 years older than he is and Brett is around 14 years older it better be.... Besides that fact, what kind of player says something like that? A three year snot-nosed kid proclaiming superiority over two Hall of Famers? Denver fans are proud of that? I thought some WR's were bad.

What's funny is that you're counting a season in which he only played one game due to a broken leg, and his first year in which he was almost exclusively a kick returner.

Here are his career averages when you take those two seasons out:

83 catches

1142 yds

7 tds

Okay, so he might not be the best ever but those are great stats for any number one receiver. Especially for one that plays on a run oriented team.

BTW, I didn't factor in this season's stats because it isn't over yet. However, he already has over 1,000 yds, so that's four consecutive 1,000+ yd seasons. It would likely be six consecutive if Smith hadn't broken his leg in the first game of the 2004 season.

Including the term overrated in any description of Steve Smith is ridiculous. Let's be realistic. Is there another receiver playing today who gives more effort on every play run from scrimmage? Does any receiver do more after the catch? Does any receiver try harder for the ball that is up for grabs? This guy is not even 6' tall. Better yet, he ain't a cancer in the locker room.
