Well that's true but if Rivera get canned then I will probably say Shula will become interim.

Well, the UFL folded, so why not call up 80 year old Marty Shottenheimer and ask him to be a caretaker for the rest of the year? Who knows, maybe he'd show enough that some other team would give him a shot next year.

There is no point at this time to fire Rivera and bring in a interm coach, nor promote a cooridinator for that role. The only way you make a change now is if the guy you want is available and ready to come in. Then he can start the evaluation process, etc. Otherwise making a change now is pointless. The message to the team has already been sent with the firing of Hurney. Rivera and staff are here to stay until the end of the season.
