This is what he does. You'll notice he doesn't mention Newton running for 16 to pick up a first down on that final drive, or the fact that we attempted 7 runs to 4 passes to try and grind out some clock. He also doesn't have any context (such as Smith not making the TD grab). No, 1/4 OMG WOW.

The root cause of the late game woes is the fact that Cam Newton is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL in obvious passing situations. The numbers are available on espn under Cam Newton "splits".

I repeat, the play just prior to the dirtball to Hartsock was a completed pass to Murphy down to the 1 foot line. Had Murphy been able to power that extra foot, then it goes from a "Cam isn't clutch" moment, to "Cam pulls it out at the end".

I expect we can find other plays just like this sprinkled at the end of the other games.
