The new GM and new coach in 2013 need to sit Cam behind a vet QB

Y'all Cam is the reason Steve slipped, or the fact that he threw a very nice ball for a would be touchdown that Steve couldn't catch. See what's going on here, every bad thing is Cam's fault. While Sam Mills fan can't give Cam credit for the perfect throws that have been dropped.

So it's a no-win argument with this idiot.

What good is a quarterback if you can't use him to throw the ball inside the 10 or with under 5 minutes left in games?

He had some great throws today! I'm not saying otherwise. The point is solely these weird mental blocks he has in these crunch times situations. Not one person can point out a crunch time pass Cam has came up with in basically two seasons of work. Pretty telling, no? There's a reason his record is what it is.

What quarterback is NOT asked to carry the team on their back to win? There's like Alex Smith and Cutler and that's about it. Way more QBs have to do that than don't.

The option was designed for Cam. What other quarterbacks could even play at Cam's level with these plays called? Can you seriously name one? The offensive play calling was not only a failure in the NFL, but it put every other play on Cam. If you want to argue if he's fuged up a few times, that's something altogether, but the option based offense was the biggest burden he's been carrying mentally. We should have been power running all year with the added two tight end sets, todays game proved it.

Benching Cam Newton is a ridiculously horrible idea right now. Cam Newton is not the reason this team is 1-6. I can honestly say that he has played well enough this year to be 5-2 right now.

But, as a team, the Panthers just can't seem to finish games. It isn't about one player, QB or not. It takes an entire team effort to win.

Be careful what you ask for OP, you just might get it. Question... do you watch other teams play or just the Panthers? I usually watch at least 5-6 games a week - switching to multiple games and with NFL Game Rewind. Cam makes about as many mistakes during the course of a game as most other QBs - even the Elis, Peytons, Brees', Daltons, and Cutlers of the league. Can you honestly say that Cutler had a better game today than Cam?

Yep, Stafford is just as erratic if not more erratic than Cam. But this guy doesn't know rain from snow.

He throws just fine regardless of the time on the clock. The field gets a lot smaller inside the 10 yard line. The route tree becomes very limited in that area.

I don't have the stats, but I'd bet you every dollar I have that his QB rating takes a nosedive late in games. Under 5, under 6, under 7 minutes left to go.

And Cam is completing about 15% of his attempts inside the 10 this year, worst in the league by far. The route tree gets limited for all of them, not just Cam.

You think a QB should be expected to carry the team on his back to win?

lol this is why Cam Newton is the next Lebron James.

Lol so the throw to Olsen for a td vs the jags isn't a crunch time throw? And then how about that two point conversion to follow it up? Idiot. How about that throw to Steve to seal up the deal for the Texans game?

You're clueless.

Seriously? A touchdown with about 10 minutes left in the game against rookie Blaine Gabbert is what you have? Don't remember the Texans throw so can't comment.
