Who was your Team before 1995

I'm not quite sure what the point of this thread you've created is? You come on here and ask people who their team was before 1995 and then tell us that no one is telling the truth? Do you really want to know or were you just looking for a way to bash people?

I can certainly see how people can change teams when a new team comes to their area... as MANY others have stated, which for some reason you vehemently disagree with, a lot of people in central and eastern NC were Redskins fans... I know in my dad's case it was because that's the only team they got to watch growing up. I pulled for the Redskins growing up just because my dad did, but didn't really watch a lot of football until the late 90's when my boss, who had Panthers season tickets, started letting me go to a couple of games each year. I became a Panther's fan about that time and a die-hard Panther's fan in 2002 when I really started watching games on TV every Sunday.

Is your point that we're not "true" fans or as much of a fan of you because some of us "changed" to be Panther's fans later in life?

i think that is exactly what he is doing. he's a troll and he should be repped like one. if you got it, use it.

I was gonna say. I think this must be a kid of the modern age only. Back in the day, there were no internets, NFLN, Sunday Ticket or anything like that. There was about 1/32nd the amount of info there is out now on the NFL. What they chose to put on in your local area was all you got. There was no Sunday night football even. I used to have subscriptions to sports magazines like TSN and that was about it as far as coverage for any team other than what was on TV.

Yep, I remember when all you got was a 2 paragraph write up on each game in the Sunday paper. If there was a Sunday pregame that was gold. Howard Cossell's half time highlights on Monday Night Football was the NFL Altar. All praise the 15 seconds your team was on the high lights.

I spent from 86-92 in a small town in S.C. called Andrews. We had a redskin day every year where Jumpy Geathers, Darrell Green, and other redskins would come to visit and be treated like Kings. I did not know 1, Atlanta Falcon fan. I was a cowboys fan, and I would say the town was about 60-30 between redskins and cowboys. The other 9% were dolphin fans. I'm just gonna give 1 % to the falcons on gp.

I was stationed in Arizona the day Carolina was awarded a franchise. I immediately without hesitation walked next door, gave this guy named Arnold (cowboys fan) everything Cowboys I had (except my touchdown Toney Dorsett signed football helmet). Never looked back.

Currently live 15 minutes from GA dome, and I make sure at least once per year I piss on it. I get to the game at least 3 hrs early so I can smack talk. We gave the *& UGH R :LDJFing falcons their lease back last year after owning the GA dome. I expect us to take it back this year.

I was 6 years old when the Panthers played their first season, which is the first football I ever remember watching. So I was raised a Panther fan, so I didn't have a team before then.

However, my dad, who is another diehard Panthers fan, was a Cowboy fan before 95.

I'm from Wilmington, NC, the home of both Sonny Jurgensen and Roman Gabriel. That made me a 'Skins and Rams fan when those guys were still playing when I was a kid. Other than that - and please, remember this was before they were the Dallas Convicts - I was a Cowboys fan. Back in the Staubach days. It pains me that the thugs with the stars on their helmets today bear no resemblence to the great Staubach - Landry teams of my youth. But since 1995, I have bled Panther blue and black!

I got in to football in the mid-70's when I was 6 or 7 years old. Most of my friends and family liked the Skins (mainly), Steelers, Cowboys, or Dolphins and I was a Dolphins fan. I grew up in the piedmont of NC, just north of Charlotte, and I was 25 when the Panthers came to be. From the time I started watching football, from elementary school, jr high, high school, and through college, I have never met one Falcons fan from here. And that still holds true today. Not one. Never.

I was 7 when the Panthers became a team so I had no prior football knowledge. Being so young I obviously didn't choose teams because their running back was "1st in the league in YPC" or becuase "this team had two 1000 yard recievers." I had no clue what that ment. My local paper had an article about the panthers a few weeks before the season and I just liked there colors. Again, I was 7 so what do you expect. Got a Kerry Collins Jersey for my birthday the following year and that was it. Panthers were my team. So I can honestly say, the Carolina Panthers got me into football

I was pretty young when we got the franchise and more of a Hornets/NASCAR fan before the Panthers came along.

And yeah, I have no idea what the TC is talking about. I didn't know that Atlanta even had a football team until I started watching the NFL more closely, and I've lived in western NC my entire life. Everyone I knew that followed the NFL was either a Cowboys or Redskins fan with a couple of Packers, Steelers, and Dolphins fans in the mix. I even asked my dad about it once, and he had to strain to remember the two Falcons fans that worked with him at one point.

Think about it: for the most part, they were horrible. Until 2004, they had won two division titles in 40 years. Their marquee rivalry was with the New Orleans Saints. Exciting.

I wasn't into professional football before the Panthers, loved college, didn't watch the pros at all. I lived in Asheville and my boss was a big time Redskins fan having grown up in the DC area, who converted to a Panthers fan as soon as it was announced they had a franchise and purchased PSLs. He closed the office and we went to the first training camp in Spartanburg. Went to several games with him in Clemson that first year, been hooked every since. OP is just trolling, but I think he's probably in the Smack forum only by now...

3 weeks after I turned 7 the Raiders beat my brothers' Eagles in SB XV, been an Oaktown fan ever since. Then I wanted an NFC team, almost went NYG, but then Carolina showed up, saw their third game, a loss to StL, and havent been able to let go since then...
