If You Don't Support Cam, You Can GTFOH

It's the RUNNING Game, period. Cam is a gifted athlete and it's really too much for any young QB to bear (no pun intended). The play that disrupted the entire game was the 3rd and 1...with roughly 9 minutes left in the game and Panthers up 19-7. If you can't make a 3rd and 1....so much like the Falcons game....the D just can't get it done in crunch time so the offense is forced to score TDs. The L today is the offenses fault and not solely Cams...please oh God, please run the ball in the red zone...please trash the read option and let Dangelo do his thing.......

We have the 28th ranked scoring offense and the 20th ranked scoring defense. Who is weighing down the team?

Remember rankings are for losers.... people in La La Land can't be reasoned with.

Same people saying stats are for losers be talking bout Cams 300 meaningless yards...0 TDs...

Cam had a decent day, not a great or horrible day. The pick 6 is just an unfortunate football play, he executed that play right, but sometime there are plays where you have bad luck or the defense just makes a great play… that was one of those plays.

Positives, Cam did a good job keeping plays alive, finding check downs at the right time, and having some really accurate and good aggressive throws down the field.

Negatives, still showing poor mechanics too often throwing off of his back foot and having some really inaccurate throws.

I am not putting this loss on Cam alone, but I am putting this one on the offense/offensive coaching/whatever. While the defense did give up the game winning field goal, overall they played a hell of a game from beginning to end, can’t say that about the offense. The defense gave the offense good field positions and opportunities all day and they routinely settled for field goal attempts… the way the defense played this game should have been put out of reach by the offense so that defense could continue to pin their ears back and get this win.

Part of the problem with Cam's mechanics is the slow play development and constantly looking downfield for the big play. No QB has good mechanics with pressure. He needs work....on the INT just before the half....I almost had a fit when Cam didn't dump to check down....

But all of his inaccurate throws were not with pressure in his face. Like I said there were a lot of positives from today, but there are also negatives to be pointed out as well. I don't expect Cam to be a very accurate QB at this point in his career, but some things I would like to see some improvement on instead of staying the same or even regressing a little.

Cam actually used the shorter throws more this game, and did use his checkdowns.

The offense just sucks, and cannot score TDs.

Its red-zone issues, the red-zone play-calling is terrible. It's like we work better with a longer field, but once you have to get to a certain part it's so difficult. To me it's like missing a lay-up, a clear lay-up

It's usually we throw when we should have run. It's not hard to run the ball in those situations where you really only need 10 yards for a score. I don't know what goes through his mind. I still think of Stew gaining like 7 yards on 1st and Chud opt to throw the ball 2 straight times, when we need another 7 yards for a score

The Stirs Report:

Cam had a much better day. Certain reads and slants are still off, but overall played much better. I think he will need to take a bit better care of the ball when running, but was glad to see the bootleg put back in the playbook. His mechanics, especially footwork are off, but the pick 6 was not his fault. Timing patterns are screwed when your WR falls down.

Questions:

Why no FG attempt at the end of the first half? We gave up the opportunity for 3 so we could have Cam throw in 10 yds out of the end zone? What is the point? Coaching screw up.

Defense, which was our achilles heel last year gave me a huge boost in confidence. We haad no Beason, no Gamble, rookies at CB and MLB and did a good job.

Offense seem to do fairly well except sputtering out continually in the red zone. Offense let us down again. We should have had 31-36 pts today with all the turnovers, sacks etc.

Overall, a team loss.

Coaching was better, but still not good enough, could say the same for everyone else on the team.

This effort today could have achieved with Hurney in the front office. Scapegoat.

At the end of the day, we are now picking second 2nd in the upcoming draft, although I will say I am getting tired of looking at draft picks year after year when the season isn't even half over.

This concludes the Stirs Report.
