Newton did have bright spots in the game. The timing of his mistakes are just usually horrible it seems like. All his turnovers just seem to be at the absolute worst time. Does he look like he's getting better...to a degree yeah. Is he avoiding making mistakes when he absolutely has too...no. Could Chud really stop his urge to be a bad playcaller for the whole game....no.

Be pissed all you want. Tossing Newton under the bus and making statements like "all i know is he threw that int CHOKEE" just makes you look football stupid.

they're the same kind of idiots you see arguing about a quarterback's "wins" and "losses". like middle schoolers arguing about pokemon during their lunch periods except much less nuanced.

ok so say miraculously everyone follows the impeccable logic and agrees with the OP that cam sucks and is a choker. then what? we sit around and cry every sunday? maybe fans should show up and boo cam every play as if that is going to turn something around? maybe they can call in and see if there's anybody left to fire in the entire building. we'll hold hands and march in the streets talking about how much of a choker the starting QB is. maybe they'll start derek anderson then. then we'll really be getting somewhere, guys.

If you look at that play the pass was high regardless. Smith might have been in position to make the tackle. But not stop the pick imho as I looked at the replay.

um i was thinking more about smith being in position to get his hands on the ball.

it's all football and for the record i think assigning "blame" to someone in a situation like that is a fundamentally flawed way to look at it. players slip and DBs who are well coached ballhawks are going to make plays like that.

It's the team's fault their losing not ours as fans. We're sort of crying every Sunday anyway as it stands. Either way not every Panther fan has the same opinion. It doesn't mean that someone with a different opinion is any less of a fan.

And you'd be right. Newton is making mistakes. His footwork is bad, his accuracy is off, he's a poor short field thrower and you can tell this season is in his head. He needs to work on some things, definitely.

What's old, and not targeted at you is the group of 10 or so posters that lump everything bad about the team on Newton's shoulders and refuse to acknowledge anything good about his game. They generally can't argue a point to save their lives, get owned up when they try and then back out and create poo threads for a week.

You could make an argument that it was on the play calling. All week we've been peppered with this talk of a power run game. Then at the exact moment you should employ your power run game you call a pass to the sideline. We should have been destroying clock. Cam I think as the leader does need to be conscience of that, but no the loss wasn't entirely on him. Our coaching staff gave away the game. I really hope we fire Rivera.
