Let me save some of you some reading (A great read btw):

Journalist Bill Voth, who covers the Panthers, came up with some interesting statistics. In Carolina's 22 games with Rob Chudzinski as offensive coordinator, the Panthers are averaging 23 runs to 35 passes in 15 losses, while averaging 35 runs and 23 passes in seven wins. The Panthers are 6-1 when they run the ball more.

To be fair this is, in part, due to when we are winning our running game is likely working from the get go and once up we don't need to throw. Whereas, when down it takes throwing the ball more. Furthermore, many of these games in the last two years have been close, real close. Can't blame him for calling passing plays in the fourth when we're down a score.

Essentially the statistic is slightly misleading.

Most of the games that we've lost have been 7 points or less. We are in most games, and they don't require passing it 37 times, just like this past Sunday.

not sure with what you and TRD's obsession is with not quoting posts- if you want to have a conversation wouldn't you want me to know you have responded? .......Oh wait that's right, your a cool kid around these parts, wouldn't want to stoop down to quoting nobodies now would we?

And you just proved my point: the games have been close. You know what you have to do when your down a score at the end of the game. Throw the ball! This can put at least 10, if not more passing attempts. Furthermore, if we start running the ball during this situation, people will be screaming that were wasting clock.

I'm all for arguing that Chud's playcalling has been subpar this year: see the option, but that statistic is post hoc logic.

The games aren't just close at the END of games. They have been close THROUGHOUT games. Obviously when you are down late you have to throw to catch up. Thats why you start running early.

I am not even going to read it, the "a lot or run equals win" quote is enough.

Every time a team uses the victory formation at the end of a game, they win!!!

So all we need to do is call that at the end of the game and we will win!!!

I should be the new GM! (and HC!, and OC!).

We get the ball back with almost 4 minutes on the clock.

And don't. Run. Once.

That's what I'm talking about. There have been several instances when when this has been the case. And we have another stat:

Chris Wesseling@ChrisWesseling

Interesting stat from @gregcosell on @caplannfl's podcast: Panthers have no base running game, as 66% of their runs have come out of shotgun
