The option may open up some nice throwing lanes once in a while down the seam but Cam's mechanics look terrible. Play action with the option is the reason. He throws without a real drop back. QBs still drop back in shotgun in order to step into throws. Cam is always flat footed when making option-play action throws.

Not good. Been saying it for weeks.

Cam said it himself Sunday... He just runs the plays that are called. Chud is a f'ing idiot. He is killing the offense and he's too stubborn to acknowledge it or change

I don't care we require him to stand on his head for running plays, he still should be able to throw a 5-10 yard pass.

I don't like the run option crap either, but it seems to me Cam's problems are mostly mental and not handling the pressure of being a nfl qback with a lot of attention on him. I do think he will get better as he gets older.

I said this last year, and I'll say it again, we need to use him like Big Ben, don't run him, he's too good of a passer to do that, get him to use his legs to extend the play and he could be a perennial pro-bowler.

Dan Patrick also said about as much about Cam today on his show, this is what needs to be done.

I am of the honest opinion that the read option is worthless in the NFL, and any OC or HC that thinks it's what the need to do needs to be fired.
