Its protecting their bodies for the very limited lifespan you get in the NFL. Its not ending a career over a game that doesn't mean anything. Put any of the bullshit spouted about preseason games in there you like.

anybody who takes a poo out there because this season is "over" is playing with fire. the new GM is going to be watching hours of film and likely feels no attachment or sentimentality toward any of these guys.

they probably know that though and i wouldn't blame anyone who couldn't care less about sticking around for the rebuilding.

Sortakinda, but we'll probably plays balls out now with no restrictions. Instead of sticking to the script, we try different things till we find something that works against that opponent to win and push ourselves out of a high draft pick.
