If Cam was half the leader that..

Cam is suffering from the same problems he had as a rookie.

As long as he continues down the path he is currently on, he'll never be a good quarterback with the game on the line.

Do the Panthers have other problems, yes, but that isn't what this thread is about. So redirecting blame elsewhere does nothing but ignore the problems that the face of this franchise has.

Yeah what ever happened to that fiery leader Jake Delhomme?... Oh yeah, he got ran the hell out of town.

Coincidentally a faction of imbeciles want to do the same to Cam after only a season and a half.

You morons deserve nothing more than decades of Jimmy Clausen clones.

who wants to run him out of town?

He isn't instilling confidence in his teammates.

Neither did one of Jake's game ending back breaking INTs. If they cant motivate themselves after a 1-5 start, they dont deserve to be here. Half his teammates will be gone in a few months anyway. Then we really get to see how Cam leads HIS team.

Laughable.

So, let's trade Cam Newton to any team tomorrow and see if we can find the combination of Newton and The Golden Calf of Bristol and this board would still bitch.

If all of the troubles of this Franchise were Cam Newton we would not have 4 winning season in 17 years.

...but, yeah, keep telling yourself it's all a 23rd year to lead the Panthers to a promise land they have never had but briefly in their tenure.

He isn't instilling confidence in his teammates.

He isn't inspiring to play at their highest level.

Say what ya want about the coaching, but Cam is having a negative impact on the rest of the team.

Spin that however you want.

Here's a tip for you...Cam sometimes acts immature just like every other 23 year old. Put them all in high stress situations, and the immaturity will come out in one form or another. I was that way, you were that way, all 23 year olds are that way. The fact that they earn a lot of money and are famous doesn't change that.

I see nothing to indicate that Rivera is providing effective leadership to this team, or that he is guiding players in a way to maximize their potential. I see nothing from Smitty that would equate to effective leadership. Neither Gross or Kalil are apparently doing much either based on the fact that Hurney said we lacked leadership on the offensive side of the ball. So why do you expect a 23 year old kid to overcome all of that and take the reins? He will eventually, but it is unrealistic to expect it at this point.

Our leadership with a young team and young QB has to start at the top. That is the Head Coach's responsibility. He and the other veteran coaches and players have the maturity and experience to set an example and guide the younger players.

Why you expect nothing out of others and everything out of Cam is the part I don't get. Can you explain it further or will you just fall back on "he's the QB blah, blah, blah"?

Delhomme may not of had the talent of Cam, but he was the unquestioned leader of the offense, and you can't say that about Cam right now.

yea he was so unquestioned they gave him a boneheaded contract extension after turning the ball over 6 times against the cardinals in the playoffs

a lot of good being an "unquestioned leader" did for us

This post tells me all I need to know why your team sucks. You don't damn anything from the actual vets and chosen leaders on your team but you demand EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING from your QB because the media is trying to turn him into Vince Young.

And BTW, you clearly have seen post interviews with RGIII. All these QBs have their moments. The problem I see with you fans is you're always looking for an easy scape-goat to cover up for the fact that the Panthers mentality is that of extreme undiscipline.

Where are the LEADERS ON THIS TEAM who suppose to step up and lead this this team. All I've read on this site is endless ranting about your QB but not one of you have the guts to call out the Vets on this team and ask them to GROW THE FUG UP. Nope, you're a bunch of cowards who are looking for the next QB to blame your teams issues on.

How phoney of you to sit and all demand everything from Cam under the guise of him being a "leader" but never ONCE call out the vets to do their jobs. You cannot be taken seriously.
