Kind of worried...Any Medical people out there?

Getting some life insurance and got some lab work done. Come to find out my GGT, and ALT were in the 300s for my liver. norms are like 30-40s.

I havent had a drink of alcohol in 4 months and honestly wasnt a heavy drinker,

Im kind of worried.

Make appt ]to have it done again with further testing and discuss it with your dr. . Do you take any meds, nsaids?

Might want to check for hepatitis. I'm sure they did but thought I'd throw that hat in the ring.

My liver enzymes were abnormally high on a routine blood test and as it turns out I had Hepatitis C. Luckily it was caught early and was a genotype that was treatable. Six months of interferon and ribavirin treatment (~$5000/mo) and it's undetectable.

damn. they did check for hep but it was negative. guess ill make another appt.

take multi vitamins and fish oils everdyay

have been taking prevacid every day tho for a while so that might be the cause.

With it being that high, wouldn't your doctor call you and automatically have you come in to see what the fug is up or was this done through some blood testing clinic just for life insurance?

ya it reported negative for hep c

it was just a blood test for life insurance. some lady came to my house. I did not take tyelenol that day.

Dan's was elevated when he had gallstones and pancreatits due to a gallstone blockage. He had his gallbladder removed. Dr said it takes a long time for the levels to go back to normal and didn't seem to be concerned about it.

Hmmm....I would definitely make an appointment with your doctor to see what could be up. I just had my yearly bloodwork done and everything for my liver came back ok and I drink like a fish and shoot black tar heroin into my ballsack on a daily basis.

honestly i had blood work done last year and im guessing everything was fine. Ill make an appt tomorrow.

those agencies that test these types of things can be wildly inaccurate, so go see your PCP and let them make a determination. We have to take our kids to a separate medical facility sometimes and all their info is way off what our Ped. says.
