Will players play harder?

With the firing of Marty, it seems players are very pissed. We already heard some don't like the coaches and Rivera losing the locker room. Will they just go out there and play their best? Or will one player just snap on the coaches, I believe Cam will be the one to snap. You would think this would motivate them, but I feel they will just go trough the motions.

They may play harder because at this point anybody can get axed

Yes, but only to a certain point. Players like CJ, DeAngelo, Stew have crippling contracts that will kill us cap-wise if they are cut.

I think it's a near certainty that players will play harder because they all got slapped in the face with "noone in this organization is above being shitcanned". The problem will be if they are all playing to save their own asses and not playing harder as a team. There is a real and tangible difference and a lot of players playing to save their own asses and not as a team isn't going to be anything anyone wants to see.

Honestly through this whole process I see that as the biggest challenge for Rivera. The coaching staff can make decisions to change scheme / playcalling / fire assistants on their own...but keeping this team playing hard as a team through the rest of this season is going to be damn hard to do.
