Why does Rivera say we do not have the personal to run his scheme?

We have a group put together for a Fox style run offense that he is trying to implement an option read AS A BASE PACKAGE with that limits our stacked running back core, allows defensive lines to kill us, and furthermore has driven ourselves into a corner as an offense. Its not a game and a pretty obvious observation.

Yes we have been running a read option as our base. No it obviously hasn't worked. Is that his doing? We won't now til Sunday. If we continue to see it, then yes it's he and Chuds idea. If it goes bye bye then we can assume it was Marty's idea.

I think the biggest problem for the Bears come Sunday is that we're gonna throw a whole new look at them... No film to prepare for it.

That in my mind gives us an edge

And if the read option is scrapped this coming game, our coaches are using the firing of Hurney as an excuse to change their game planning. Hurney accumulated the talent, he did not implement the scheme. He's wasn't a coach and to think a GM is in charge of developing a playbook is short-sighted

I'll finish by agreeing with you. The Chicago game presents us the opportunity to come out with a new look. (Which we claimed we would do against the Cowgirls)

Much better explanation that time. We won't know what the changes will be come Sunday, but RR guaranteed changes, but then again so did Obama. Last time I checked that didn't work out so well. Hopefully RR's changes will.

I would like to counter you with a little bit of speculation to see if you thought it was as weird as I did in RR's Presser yesterday.

Didn't you find it odd, that the first thing he did was put Gamble on IR? He seemed authoritative about it... Almost as if he had no voice in doing it the week prior. Also said the buck stopped with him. Again very authoritative in that remark. This is just an inference on my part, but I don't think that RR or his staff had much to say about anything. It also came out yesterday, that McDermott couldn't even tell us who or where he would start at certain positions because "it wasn't his call to make" how does the DC not have that call? Was he implying that RR makes that call? Perhaps... But I choose to think that Marty made al, of the calls, and that's why RR's contract is chump change compared to most HC's around the League.

Make no mistake about it... We are going to find out just how good or bad RR is at being a HC in the coming weeks... He now has full control over this team, he made that very obvious in his presser. Now we're gonna find out what he can do with what we have.

Stereotypically true on Hartsock... But I do remember him laying out for a ball and making a spectacular catch earlier in the season. I do agree with you mostly though. Also neither of them have that "edge" or swag that Shockey had.

I guess your right in the fact we'll find out this coming Sunday but I'm not expecting to see that big of a change. I really dunno but its never looked like anyone has been in control of our direction. Kinda how Stephen A. Smith put it yesterday.

This team is leaderless and lost wandering in the woods right now. That is the worst type of situation to have when you have a vulnerable young QB (both mentally and in-game), above average veterans who have not experienced success in years, and a coach who is just meh. Given the players we have, regardless of who's making the shots, they are lost on how to utilize our talent.

I just think Rivera is gone at the end of the season and we're giving him the opportunity to save face. We'll see what happens.

Overall, With he players you've named, I don't think they have much of an edge. The only thing you have working for you in your argument is that u have history on your side. LT was an MVP... If we featured one of our backs the way that they featured LT we might be able to get similar production.

In fact this is a dumb argument anyways... This team has not implemented a game plan to feature any of the players I've listed other than Cam... When THAT changes, we will be more productive offensively.

When RR was hired, he said he wanted an OC that would take control of the offensive side of the operation. He stated he didn't want to have much/if anything to do with that side of the ball. To me that sent up a huge RED FLAG. The offense is not his. He is a glorified DC, nothing more.
