How Many Wins Would This Team Have With (Insert Hall Of Fame Name Here) As Coach?

It seems a big point of debate lately has been whether people believe this team is talented enough to win consistently as-is versus not enough talent to win and we're just seeing the results of bad personnel management.

I've held to the idea that we are talented enough as-is to win year in and year out (starting with last year's team)... Maybe not 12 wins a year, but at least 9.

So, I ask... If Bill Belichick was coaching this team from the start of the year, how many wins would we end up with?

Better yet, since everyone wants to compare RG3 and Cam lately, this has been nagging me even more... Shannahan knows how to accentuate and capitalize on RG3's strengths. He knows what to do from game to game to protect him. So, if Shannahan was coaching this team, how many wins would we have?

If your answer is greater than what we're trending towards currently, then that should answer whether we have enough talent as-is. I believe we are guaranteed 9 wins with either of those coaches, as well as many other coaches who aren't quite those two guys' caliber. That's why it's so disappointing to have wasted yet another year and it's time to move forward with a new staff when the season is over (at the latest).

I'm not so sure it's quite so binary. I both believe we could have won more games with a better coaching staff and that our team is not as talented as it should be in the right places.

I feel like this coaching staff has failed to extract the level of performance they should from the talent we do have and as much as I hate myself for saying it (because I really do like Rivera the guy) I think we should be throwing out the baby, the bathwater, and the tub they were in. I'd like to see the new GM at least have the opportunity to replace the coach. Growing pains / specifics aside this team is fundamentally flawed in preparation, use of existing talent, and scheme. These things can't be blamed on the GM.

Of course a better coaching staff could have done a lot more with what we have than the one we have, sure, but I don't really think that says we are talented enough as-is either, at least on the defensive side. We have talent stacked at odd places while being woefully understaffed in the secondary / along the D-Line.

I actually do believe the offense is talented enough to win games as-is. Like any unit it could be better but there is enough talent there (if oddly distributed and terribly mismanaged - hai2u deluxe luxury edition backfield and option based offense).

TL;DR - I think we have enough talent to win more games but not enough talent to win enough games. Better coaches will get better results with what we have. Better management will improve the talent pool the better coaches have to work with.

*edit*

I think we're an 8-9 win team with better coaches, the injury situation we have right now, and no change in player personnel. But I don't think we'd be good enough to get past the wildcard round if we did manage to squeak in as a 9 win team somehow - better coaches or not.

I would say probably 1 or 2 more wins. Hurney is the main one who has destroyed the team and Chud has ruined our offense. I think if we had a better OC, the team would overall be better. McDermott isn't the best, but at least he has improved game after game. With a good OC, we wouldn't be bad at all. I would guarantee we would be over .500.
