Cam Newton needs real competition.

Your delusional if you think he doesn't need competition. He's pissed away the last 3 games. When we keep losing we'll see what everyone says then.

Thanks Dr. "TheMaulClaw" for your prognosis of my state of mind. :nurse:

I am fairly confident if the Panthers revert to an offensive game plan similar to last year's most of Cam's issues will magically disappear.

Now, either this Coaching Staff can figure that out or the one that replaces them next year will. Either way, more QB competition will not address what currently ails Cam.

You can take that prescription for a healthy offense to the bank. :cigar:

Cam may become a serviceable QB one day. But not here....he's damage goods. He seems like he doesn't even want to be here.

It takes up a roster spot & cap space we could use to fix things that are actually broken on this team.

whats one roster spot on this team? and you dont think CAMERON is broken? mr. claw, ur a very thoughtful and wise young man, very enlightened thinking from a panthers fan, very refreshing! the CAMERON worshippers r trashing u too, arent they? stand firm, remember, the first one through the wall always gets bloody.

So is that a yes or a no?

If any qb including these players have had the type of season that Cam as had both on the field and from a leadership perspective the answer is a resounding yes.

Listen, I was hoping that Cam could be the Lebron James of Charlotte too. I was excited when we drafted him. I'm not someone that's wanted this guy to fail. Now we're approaching the time where half the fans are still drinking his cool-aid, and half the fan are beginning to worry. So the question is this........what's a reasonable way to light a fire under his ass without cutting or trading him. I say the answer is competition...if it takes bringing in someone to compete then I'm all for it. But I'm not for the status quo and I don't want to live or die with Cam....I'm not dying with him. There are players out there who don't take their opportunities for granted and that study hard. Make the boy compete.

cam doesn't need more competition. he's the right guy for the job.

what he needs is more competitive people around him...better players on both sides of the ball, better coaching/playcalling.

it's the same thing any franchise QB needs. they need to be not left on an island to carry the team on their own, esp. at 23 years old.

the team needs more experienced players and coaches and they need a system that doesn't put so much on one guy and limits what he can do when they put it on him.

He needs to quit throwing dumb interceptions (not even the that was close variety) and fumbling in the 4th quarter in close games. His team is playing well enough to win.........then he turns it over with the game on the line. Not one signature 4th qtr drive....not one.

You see what Cam is working with this year

You saw last year how we constantly had leads but defenses gave up points and lets not forget the bullshit ass penalties that was called that took away a few TD's

The defense this year is the reason we're even in games aside from the Giants. He's not throwing to Olsen when he's open, he's throwing picks in the redzone. He's got a bad fumbling problem. We would have beaten arguable the best team in the league right now in ATL if he doesn't fumble on the 4th down conversion. He couldn't move the ball against the Seahawks. He had multiple chances to put the game away Sunday and he didn't. So to sit here and say it's everyone else's fault but his is absolute bs.

yes. he needs to play better. he needs to handle himself better. all that comes with experience and maturity...not competition.

he also needs to have people playing better around him and coaching the team better.

no one is off the hook, not even cam.

but...competition at QB isn't something that will help nor should it even be considered.

let him grow. help him grow. give him the experience he needs to develop. build around him. THIS is what is needed.
