Which players will be gone....

For example, DeAngelo Williams (since I know that's a common one people will bring up) would have a $9.6 million cap hit if released or traded this offseason as his signing bonuses accelerates. That's slightly more than if we keep him, although it does free up a significant amount in the future. It's really going to take a year or two for the team to be in a good situation cap wise.

I could've sworn I'd read that his contract was structured so that he could be released after this season with no hit. If what you wrote is true, then fug, that contract truly was a junk show.

Kind of hope we do a rebuild job.... I mean look the Colts did it and they're going to win 7 or 8 this year and be in contention.

Give me a last place schedule, draft nothing but weapons for Newton the first day, and get new blood in here for 2013 and you'll feel good on Sundays again.

We tried with the vets, CJ, DWILL, Smitty, Beason, it just isn't working. It didn't work.

Not DeAngelo's. It's structured that we can cut him after this year and owe him nothing.

RocknRolla is correct. While true we would not owe DWill any out-of-pocket dollars, we still have his unallocated bonus to deal with. We will have the ability to spread that over 2 years, so it won't have much impact negative or positive this year.

Hard to say. Probably DJ campbell...maybe hogan or thomas. Doubt munnerlyn goes because he's cheap and carries his weight especially recently. Hardy could. Hangman could be gone. Any of the backup linemen honestly. Onatolu i think only got a 1 year deal so he wouldn't be re-signed. Nakamura may or may not go.

I really am hoping we clean house i mean from smitty to beason i know some wont like that on here but it needs to be done and we need to quit paying this big money to injury prone players and not draft guys because there nice guys we need to start drafting REAL football players.

So... Beason and Smitty aren't "real football players"?

The clean out should include our medical and training staff. They totally poo'd the bed when it came to their handling of Beason and TD's injuries. Beason should've never been out there on the field with a duct taped together Achilles. Now we have guys like Gettis and Hogan who seemingly aren't recovering from ACL surgeries well after the staff botched TD's recovery process.

the disgruntled ones with the biggest mouths/most active twitter accounts will be the first to go. d-will and CJ are probably at the top of that list...in CJ's case it really sucks because we don't really have anyone that can fill his shoes...but whatever.

the symbols of the biggest failures, namely clausen and armanti will be gone.

at least one coach soon...probably chud.

this is all about statements.

I dont think they should clean house. They should trim the fat, re-structure big deals, and continue to build. We have allot of talent on this team and should continue to build around it. Our biggest issue right now is inexperience and youth. As Hurney said today the locker-room needs leadership and for whatever reason we arent getting it.

This. You don't just scrap everyone with a big contract. You gotta bring in someone with a vision then let him execute it.

the lockerroom doesn't have leadership because they didn't "rebuild" with enough vets.

they went from being too old of a team to too young overnight.

they created a situation that got you starting 4 rookies.

hurney didn't take a balanced approach to building a team and it left us with a very young and immature lockerroom.
