We all know this season is a wash. No way we make the playoffs, and all we can really do is take ourselves out of draft position. We might as well use this as an opportunity to completely clean the slate. If we bring in the new coach now we can get a jump start learning the new schemes this season so we're ready to go by next year instead of waiting till OTAs to start installing.

Then bring in a new GM who will want a different head coach?

Nah you don't do that, and nobody is good enough to promote to head coach.

Besides, Chip Kelly still has to finish his season. That's who we need to hire.
