Rivera... stay around the phone today...

I bet Rivera wished he dump the read option offense in the bye week now! This is what happens Rivera, when you think you can try and revolutionize the league with a gifted player, and now you are on your way out of a HC job. Should have went back to what worked last year.

Don't see Rivera being fired... in fact I suspect this firing came as a result of the Big Cat calling Rivera to the carpet last night to ask him what was wrong and Rivera said he didn't have the right personnel for our schema.

Expect DeAngelo to be traded before the deadline. Hate to hear myself say that but I think that's why they were keeping him on ice yesterday... he's a good HB but a bad fit for the read-option scheme.

Dang...I hope you're wrong...but icing Williams really didn't make sense unless you look at it this way...

It is not the right/wrong personnel for the scheme....it is the scheme that is the problem.

The read option does not work in teh NFL. The defensive players are too fast....too quick to reach....and have too much recovery speed to run it effectively as anything other than an occasional change of pace.

IF Rivera and Chud believe the read option is the right scheme, both should be shown the door right now.

Rivera needs to go, and I'm sure he will go at the end of the year. I hate it for him on a personal level, because he seems like a great high-character guy and I wanted to see him succeed. That being said, he's a big boy and this is what he signed up for.

Hurney had to go- Richardson had to make a statement after the failures of the past few years to show the fan base he does care about them, which he passionately does.

The only thing I'll stand by is that I truly believe this is most talented roster the Panthers have had since 2008, and their failures on the field are more of a reflection of Rivera than Hurney. This year has been an epic disappointment in mt Panther fandom.

The only thing that is infuriating to me at this very juncture is the blatantly racist crap towards Newton. He can play better just like the rest of the team, but he is still by far the best and only franchise QB the Panthers have ever had. What more do you want from the guy? He doesn't call the plays, he doesn't play defense or special teams, he doesn't block, he doesn't drop passes. He is a part of a 1-5 team, but he is one of the brightest parts of the future of this team. If you don't want to support him, find another team. There are 15 other ones right now in the NFC with a better record.

No one will miss you. I have been a Panther fan since day 1, and a PSL holder since 2005. I am very disappointed like everyone, but I'm not a bandwagon fan and I'm not going to an itch about these tough times. Changes need to be made, and we deserve a better return on our investment. But for the most part, it really is only an emotional investment. You can pull funds at any time.
