What in the world would make you assume that he would be a good head coach when he has been an awful OC?

Last year he was not awful and we do not know who or why the offensive scheme changed. It's a free look at a guy that a couple teams interviewed as a head coach last year. We already know Rivera is poo, we could check out Chud and then hire a real coach after December if it doesn't work out.

New GM will be hired soon. He can start looking at college coaches immediately if we fire RIvera and put in an interim HC>

You're realistically only going to get an interim GM right now.

Anyone worth having long term is already employed and won't be available for hire until the season is over.

Unless he is a college coach. They can at least be interviewed now.

Or someone who is currently unemployed.

Like, oh, I don't know, a retired super bowl winning coach with North Carolina ties who might want to get a feel for the organization for the rest of the year......
