I am certain we will block better next week, run special teams better, our tackling will now be stellar, and Cams accuracy will go through the roof.

Not sure this move is anything more than to scapegoat some guy who has little to do with how a team performs on Sunday. It does, as evidence by this "thrilling" thread, do a lot to calm the masses and give them hope for next week.

Why wouldn't he say that, Marty gave him 72 million dollars. The sad thing about it is that Charles Johnson only had one good game this year.

Oh very true that. Just saying that the guy is still supporting a GM who done very little to bring in the good talent to fill our needs to win. Instead throwing ton of money on 2 RBs who have yet to produce anything in the backfield for us this year. Just crazy how a player can stay loyal to a guy like this. It's one thing to wish Hurney well, but to be blind and trying to give hint that he is one of the best GM around. He is been a sheep and following him. Get rid of him as well if he wants to be that way.

Works for me.... my biggest fear was the Panthers going on a wins streak, finishing strong at 8-8, 7-9 etc, we get another false reality and all was back and next season start 1-5 again. NOW I can enjoy the rest of the seaon, without that fear.

The new GM will inherit a cap mess. 43 players are under contract for next season and they have a combined cap hit that will eat up nearly 90% of the next years cap limit. Most of the ones with a bad cap hit will be nearly untradeable.

Hurney took a slightly above average DE and paid him like an elite one. and then, brought in hardly anybody to push or compete for his position, let alone the one on the opposite end of the line
