So I was driving to dinner tonight with my gf and I hydroplaned, hit a curb, blew a tire and fuged up the left front fender. Then I tried to change my tire but two lugs broke off into the rotor. Now I need to drill them out and get new lugs but the only problem is I don't know what size they are. I called Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts and talked to my boss and none of them can find anything for thread size, depth etc.... Please for the love of god help me. I drive a 1999 Daewoo Lanos and would appreciate any help.

BTW, there is also a recall on file for the lug nuts on your car... (and a bunch of other stuff, too...

Recall Date:NOV 30, 1999

Model Affected:1999 DAEWOO LANOS

Summary:VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ALLOY WHEELS. THESE WHEELS WERE MANUFACTURED WITHOUT THE STEEL BUSHING INSERTS AROUND THE WHEEL BOLT OPENINGS, ALLOWING FRICTION BETWEEN THE WHEEL BOLT SEATS AND THE WHEEL BOLTS. THIS CAN RESULT IN THE BOLTS LOOSENING DURING HARD BRAKING.

Consequence:THE WHEEL COULD DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy:DEALERS WILL RETORQUE THE WHEEL BOLTS AND WILL UPDATE THE OWNER'S MANUAL WHEEL BOLT TORQUE SPECIFICATION.

Potential Units Affected:2811

Notes:DAEWOO MOTOR CO., LTD

When you take off tire, you might have to take of the break caliper and rotor, if you get a screw driver and a ball pean hammer, you can hammer out the studs.

After you get the studs out, you can just slide the new studs through the wheel hub, then attach a lug nut and tighten it to pull the stud through the hub, take off the lug nut, reassemble the caliper and then put put the wheel on and tightened the lug nuts. That should pull the new studs all the way into place.

Most parts stores should be able to type in your Year Make and Model and order you the studs and lug nuts that you need.
