Best car insurance?

Im about to buy a new car and was wondering what you guys think is the best car insurance company? And/Or the top 2 or 3.

Having used virtually every car insurance company that does business in North Carolina, my favorite is Geico. Far and away the easiest to deal with and when my wife was in a crash 3 years ago, they were extremely efficient.

I'm in the business and USAA is by far the leader in all categories. Have to have military ties to get in though.

If anyone has Liberty Mutual...I highly recommend you look to see what they've valued your house at just in case..God forbid ..something happened to it and you had to rebuild.

Long story short..they pissed me off so many times, I finally told them to fug OFF..when I switched, come to find out..they had my house 40k less than what it appraises for..so if something had happened we would've been royally screwed

I would highly recommend State Farm. I stuck with Nationwide for far too long. Their service was deplorable and it wasn't until I started getting quotes elsewhere that I realized how terrible their rates were. State Farm cut my premiums for the exact same coverage by 45% with one phone call. They have lowered my rates multiple times for having a clean record, something that Nationwide never did. They actually proactively called me and my girlfriend now fiance when we moved in together, noticing that we had the same address, and made suggestions on how we could collapse my renter's insurance and personal articles policy with her personal articles policy to save money. I've directed four friends to them, all of whom have saved money on their premiums as a result, and State Farm sends me a $25 gift card (first to Starbucks then generic AmEx card) for each person I refer.

Everyone of them were either dropped or rates massively jacked up with one ticket or accident. This was years ago granted, but I have not seen good things.

I have Erie Insurance...as does my wife's family and many of my friends now (I have turned them onto Erie). They have been fantastic to work with and had the best rates I could find.

I have used Liberty Mutual and Aetna in the past.....both sucked and were way more expensive.

I have been with Geico for years.

No accidents, or tickets.

Really good rates.

P.S. Why are you buying new?

I have no idea what would actually happen in the event of an accident but I have Gmac as they were the lowest I could find. Actually a broker found them for me and they were lower than any of the ones I called on my own.

Geico is great if you have a clean record and keep it clean. But they will bail on you the first time you need to make a claim.

My wife totaled her car 3 years and 2 months ago. Of course, the rates did go up (about $350 a year), but that was to be expected. I shopped around a bit, and their rates were about the same as their competitors with the accident on our record.I thought they might drop us, but they didn't. Rates just went back down since its been three years.

Geico has been great to me over the years, I have car and home insurance with them. I was in a hit and run and they took care of everything without raising my rates.
