Panthers drafted no significant contributors

According to this article by Sportsline, the Panthers drafted no signifcant immediate impact players from rounds 2-7. I tend to agree, but even Brown wasn't mentioned. That much surprised me. Draftees were ranked as immediate starters or significant contributors in this 2009 rookie year.

What do you all think? Did the Panthers draft all reserve/role players that will have no serious impact this season? I can't hardly argue, except with Brown.

Is there a player you think will unseat a starter or see ample playing time as a rookie...save special teams.

None of you said whether you agreed with the article or not. Under ideal situations, (no significant injuries and Peppers not traded and playing) I tend to agree. If Peps is here with his head screwed on straight, I can't even say that Brown will put up decent numbers both in playing time and defensive stats.

save special teams.

That takes a 3rd of the oppritunites away.

Goodson could be our KR ?

Goodson will also be our 3rd RB.

Duke Robinson projects to be back-up guard.

Fiammetta, Tony will most likely be a nick goings type player and contribute to Special teams quite a bit.

Martin has a strong chance to be our nickel.

To say a player will boom or bust before they have even gotten fitted for pads is pretty arrogant.

brown... should be a significant contributor

martin...should be a significant contributor

irvin....should be used quite a bit

goodson...should be a big play maker

what more do you want?

we didn't have a ton of holes to fill but for the most part the players we got were picked to be able to make an impact and i trust the judgments of those scouts that chose them and those people who drafted them more than the clowns who wrote that or the clowns that agree with them.

So are you in disagreement with the article? STs gets you PT, but it doesn't figure into the core of the game. It's one down. Almost all rookies that make the 45 man roster sees time on STs, except starters in some cases because thery are too valuable. We are talikng about the 11 guys on both offense and defense.

Nickel backs, 3rd down backs and rotational players are contributors, but apparently none of the three you mentioned figured to play significant roles according to this guy.

what? they say a team with 21 of 22 starters returning didn't draft a signficant contributor?

DAMN YOU

So the 21 of 22 starters returning are unable to be unseated beacuse they are that good? Call off training camp and except for Martin, Wesley and Marshall who are the only ones vieing for the open spot.
