i've got an "adopted" sister from seoul who came over as a foreign exchange student and has pretty much been family in the 10 years since then. she lives in manhattan now but comes down a couple times a year. she was down here about a week ago with her korean fiance and we were talking about this. it was just shocking to them to hear the song on the radio a while back. they had no idea it had exploded here in the states. they thought it was just big to the korean community.
