Dwayne Bowe - go get him after season

Recommended Posts

This entire post makes zero sense. We won't have money to spend on the quality WR free agents (if there are any to begin with). Guys like Bowe, Jennings and possibly Wallace are going to get monster contracts from teams who have 20-30 million in cap space. Also, your second point is just flat out wrong. Not only are there no less than three legit #1 play makers at WR likely to be in the draft this year, but we also will likely be picking in the top seven with all of them possibly still on the board....

Yes C47 we know your a Trojans fan but the point still stands.

Neither Allen, Hunter, or your beloved Trojan are even close to being Top 5 level. Period. Which is where we are currently drafting.

It has nothing to do with being a Trojan fan, and I've said I wouldn't take a WR in the first if certain players were there. I've gone on record saying my preference is to take Star and try to address WR through trade or hope Smitty doesn't completely break down. But that doesn't change the fact that this years draft has absolute play makers at the position who are worthy of being taken top 10. I'm sorry for not seeing some magical never ending cap space that you seem to, and instead choosing to look at more likely options for addressing holes. My apologies.....

at the moment i'd much rather us be paying attention to potential CBs than WRs.

the future of this secondary is much more in doubt than the future of the WR corps.

CBs and Safeties for sure.

Our secondary is going to hurt us SO much more than our receivers...and a lot faster. I am honestly terrified about this secondary...and I can convince myself almost anything will be OK.

I hate to do the mega bump, but man... We REALLY need to get this guy in here. A big target who actually catches the ball with his hands away from his body. He's physical and would be awesome to line up across from or next to Smitty (w/ Smitty in the slot). He really would be a perfect compliment for Cam with Smitty, LaFell, and Gettis already in tow.

I'd be down, but we just never do cool stuff like bring in big name guys. Maybe someday when we have a real front office...

Yeah, but that was my thing with Hurney... I understand not wanting to break the bank on a guy who is "on the verge" of breaking out. That's kind of what happened with Lucas and Wahle. They were good players but hadn't really put it all together yet and just never lived up to the expectation.

But, what I always hated was when a guy became available that has proven himself year in and year out and we never attempted to go after them. Anquan Boldin would've set us up so nice when the Cards put him on the market, but we didn't go after him... He's continued to produce, was ideal for blocking and the pass game, and yet we're still searching for a definite #2 WR.

I hope the next GM sees that it's okay to go after a guy, you just have to pick your shots.
