This entire post makes zero sense. We won't have money to spend on the quality WR free agents (if there are any to begin with). Guys like Bowe, Jennings and possibly Wallace are going to get monster contracts from teams who have 20-30 million in cap space. Also, your second point is just flat out wrong. Not only are there no less than three legit #1 play makers at WR likely to be in the draft this year, but we also will likely be picking in the top seven with all of them possibly still on the board....

bowe is going to be an expensive bust for whoever backs up a dump truck of money to him or comes up with the picks for a trade.

we have so much less to lose drafting a top WR prospect high.

I'd rather cut ties with Dwill(as much as it pains me) and use that money to go after Mike Wallace. WIth that said, the money you spend on a highend WR in FA can nab you a solid DT and CB. Go that route instead and draft WR and FS in the 1st and 2nd respectfully.

Won't happen. Heard Steve Smith had an argument with Hurney because he wanted the team to have only one Pro Bowl Caliber WR and went to JR about it. Now it's forbidden.

the panthers are 10 million over the cap heading into the offseason and hurney/richardson still think free agency is the devil. not trying to be negative here, just saying don't get your hopes up on any notable proven FAs.

we need a guy that can vie for the number one receiver regardless of who's on this team. and we are terrible at drafting receivers.

i'd give up a second for him, and i'd consider a first if they packaged in a third or a fourth.

a good landing spot for bowe would be a team with a ton of cap space that can afford to just fling a bunch of poo on the wall and hope something sticks in free agency. that's not us.

we need a very strong draft and a smart FA period heavy on value next year to turn this thing around.
