Beason's knee "flared up" this week; Onatolu to IR

i don't know if they've sat beason down and had "the talk" but i think that this is a very convenient time to start making that transition. i don't think that beason will go quietly...at least not without a fight, but i don't think that fight wil be taken to twitter and will have beason asking out of his contract or anything lke that, just that he plays harder to make a case for himself. at least i hope that's the case. but beason knows how good keuchly is and he has to know it's a matter of time before keuchly gets the job.

Yeah I don't think they necessarily had the talk either but I heard a week or so ago on the radio that this was going to happen and they were also saying the normally talkative Beason was not commenting on anything and has been very annoyed recently. Could be annoyed by the injury, could be annoyed by being "pushed" out.

Still say Beason will be his old self the last 4-6 games of the season if the right steps are taken now

Take a look at Demeco Ryans, it is not likly that the Beast will ever be able to play on that level again Achilles tears are debilitating injury's that have a two year recovery time (full recovery).

Beason has been my favorite panther for a couple years now I have both authentic jerseys, but I think he needs to step down from the mike backer position.

Ryans is playing quite well this year.

it's probably both.

he's playing hurt. not recovering as fast as he needs to and in the process he's getting outplayed by a rookie.

i think beason is great and one of the best LBs, even MLBs in the league. i think he has been the heart and soul for the defense since his rookie season and has been a solid leader on the team since then as well.

it's obvious that the organization likes him, otherwise they wouldn't have made him one of the highest paid LBs in the league and tried to keep him around for several more years.

we've just happened to stumble onto something very special with keek here and unfortunately beason's probably not going to be able to be full strength enough to kep his job for a couple more years.

i most certainly hope that beason can still be a team player because he doesn't have to play MLB to be respected and a leader of this team and he's still getting paid. i hope he sticks around because we're stronger with him in the mix than without...even if it is with beason playing on the outside.

This is now, just as it was before, a bit of an overreaction.

Not healthy right now != career over.

Lets compare Davis and Beason.

Davis - 3 ACL Tears

Beason - Achilles Tear

2 awful situations

Difference : Davis is actually contributing to the defense. Beason is not and has had a negative effect.

Im saying its time to make a tough choice. We have Kuechly to take over at MLB. Save some $...upgrade at MLB...use that $ elsewhere.

It is definately an either or situation. This is what the Texans did to D. Ryans. He was pure garbage the first year after tearing his achillies. He had all kinds of nagging injuries that year and even though he has recovered in Philly, they got some cap room space and picks. Or, they can shelve him for most of the year and let him heal completely.

I think we should follow Houston's footsteps. I mean they are only one of the best teams in the NFL...they must have a clue and know how to handle situations like this.

I love Beason. Im a huge fan. But we have sucked for how long? He's got a blown tire and he's eating up a ton of $$. Im just saying I'd like to turn the page and go in a new....team oriented direction...and not have player loyalty be a higher priority than being a winning organization

Are you saying that they may have sat Beason down and said "Jon, we are moving Kuechly to the middle and saying your knee flared up to save face for you."

If that is what you are saying, I agree and I also think that it is just a matter of time before Beason becomes very vocal about all this. I don't see him moving out of the MLB quietly.

That is what I fear too. Though its not on the same level, Munnerlyn has been a punk about losing his job and I believe it may have had an effect on Norman. I would tell Beason to get with the program and move to the Will and suck it up. Keep it out of the paper. This decision has a huge effect on how Rivera will be viewed from here on out.

A shame that his potential HoF career is probably ending like this. We drafted the guy who was riddled with pre-draft injuries, and now he's riddled with the same pre-draft injuries.

Pray for a speedy return to his original form, but the odds are highly against him.

I did mention a two year recovery time...?

If we didn't have Kuechly I would be okay with the wait and leaving him at mike but in the present Kuechly is a better option and he will only improve.

It sounded like "look at Ryans, Beason will never be good again"...but I guess I read it wrong
