Community Impact, Where do the Panthers Rank?

Was fishing for topics and couldn't think of any creating Julius Peppers trade scenarios so I went in another direction.

A lot has been made over Jerry Richardson's comment about the Panthers desire to emulate the Steelers organization and an overwelming amount of the conversation has been primarily (and rightfully) focused on Consistency, Wins/Losses, Playoff success and Superbowl Rings.

In addition to this, the off the field community impact and social responsibility of the organization and its past and currently players is also a key component of the percieved success of the Carolina Panthers.

All that being said, do think the Panthers have an overall positive effect on the community and do you think we are better/worse than teams in other markets?

Unfortunately this is a subject that is incredibly hard to document for each and every team and at the same time requires complete objectivity to be of any real value. Given the amount of both positive and negative bias the Huddle has I doubt any meaningful conclusion can be gained form this inquiry.

When do you ever get meaninful conclusions from a message board? Not trying to write or defend a thesis. Different points of view are what keeps boards like this fresh. the alternative would be to post box scores and statistics.

I think the Panthers do have a positive impact on the community, though it is hard to rank it against other teams (especially considering I don’t know how prominent these teams are in their own communities). If I had to guess, I’d put us about middle of the road or a bit higher, say tenth in the league.
