I get your point but the answer is: Browns*, Raiders, Bengals, Texans*, Cardinals.

*has played fewer seasons than we have.

Geeez, you're telling me the freakin Jaguars have more winning seasons than us? Wow it's worse than I thought and I new we were bad!! I've always laughed at teams like the Bengals, Raiders and Jags as being the perennial whipping boys of the league. It's becoming very apparent that we're in that group if not worse. Very sad realization for a fan since day 1.

Hopefully you will take the time in the next few days to write JR and let him know how you feel. Your feelings are justified.

I do and I have.

I think JR is a decent human being; but, as faar as being a Football owner, I don't know, it's like he tries to do what other successful teams have done and hope it will work for him instead of figuring out what he wants his team to be and just do it.

I'm pretty sure they have 7 winning seasons and 5 playoff berths?

I could be making that number up - of course - but it rings a bell.

we don't know the details of the situation. I know how I'd respond to being yelled at by a supervisior. I'm pretty sure most men wouldn't take it well.

Davidson prolly should have shut the fug up.

You can't say in one breath we don't know what happened, then in the next assume Davidson was doing/starting the yelling.

JR intervening should be a last resort.

To make this easier, can someone just do a quick take on what happened? What's the dealio?

A "reliable" source within the Panthers organization told Bill Rosinski a story about something that happened in 2010. Apparently Jeff Davidson and Steve Smith got into a heated argument in Davidson's office. Afterward, Smith went to Mr. Richardson and told him what happened. Big Cat then went straight to Davidson and told him not to speak to Smitty anymore (and if they got into any more arguments he would be fired). The source also noted that there are many more stories like this.

Bill says that this kind of behavior (Richardson going to an OC and telling him to back off of the star WR) shows why the organization has had only 4 winning seasons out of 17; that our ownership and management structure is flawed and problems always start from the top.

Pretty shitty assumption off of a story with little relevance

Here's the relevance that seems to escape you...

Rozinski told a story today that illustrated how JR went to bat for a favored player. We all know Jerry likes to develop personal relationships with players and employees. It is one of the things that makes him special as an owner, but can prove to be a fault as well.

DWill, Stew, Beason , Kalil etc are all standup guys on the field and off. They are all loyal and do not cause problems in the locker room. It is not a big stretch that JR would want to keep these guys around and that he would pass along that desire to Hurney. This in turn puts pressure on Hurney to get deals done whether he thinks it is the right thing to do or not.

Here's a question for you: do you really believe that Jerry stays out of questions as to who stays and who goes as a Panther? Do you think Jerry has significant input on personnel, or do you think he is truly hands off? Isn't this the same Jerry that had to tell Hurney to go ahead and do the trade that brought Olsen here?

So my point is, Hurney probably takes a lot of the heat for doing the bidding of the owner. Not too hard to understand now, is it?
