Read Option For Mobile QB's

Cam is a pocket passer that has the ability to run. He's not a smaller QB like RG 3 that moves so fluently and can run the option to perfection. It was diff last year, thats why it worked and we also didn't run it like that last season like this season

You all understood my point I was making

I see what you are saying. He's too tall or something to have the real agility and quickness. I realize he had a huge year last year and is leading the team in rushing this season. However he looks like a giraffe when he runs and seems to fall when trying to make quick cuts fairly frequently.

Griffin is on pace to break Newton's rushing records from last season.

Right, I mean Cam worked so hard and improved a lot on his passing since coming into the league at this point its either or. I feel we're trying to do too much

Correct me if I'm wrong but he said last year he rather stay in the pocket first, run 2nd

When I say mobile, that's exactly what I mean. Moving around constantly side to side, back and forth. All that decide to keep it or hand it off needs to stop. Sorry to beat a dead horse

Cam is better suited to run the zone read than RGIII in the NFL.

Chud just needs to go back to running the zone read out of 2 TE sets and give Cam more intermediate throwing routes.

It still works....Atl and NO back that up. 2 of the other 3 we didn't have Stewart

I agree that Cam is more of a pocket QB with great awareness that can run... If and when Cam reaches his potential I see him more as a Aaron Rodgers type QB running that type of offense.

When Cam's career is over....I full expect him to be the best runner at the QB postion in NFL history.

I think we're pretty good on offense weapons wise. scheme and execution are our problems.

...run option has its place, just not every fricken play.... how bout mixing it with a boot leg, a rollout, a quick slant, a hurry up to keep the D off guard.... seems like the oline is terrible though..

While RG3 is a better straight line runner, I wouldn't jump to the better runner than Cam. They are simply just better than us on offense right now.

RGIII is faster than Cam....Cam is easily a better runner. Cam has a RB's vision and is built like a tank....means Cam will score more and convert more 3rd downs. RG will have the ESPN homeruns.

Cam don't have RB vision. A Vick RG3 would fit much better in a RB position than Cam. Yes Cam is a big body that can get the short yardage, but RG3 is definitely a better runner at this point

Cam looks to have regressed when it come to running compared to last year. I mean he was fresh out of college and I'm pretty sure he's been working on his passing all off-season long, his mechanics and not how to be a RB. We don't need to run it more with 2 TE sets. We need to spread defenses out to open up things. It seem so easy to stop us

That's a fair perspective... I just believe as he continues to progress he will rely on his running ability to keep teams honest and create favorable one on one matchups for his receivers. I feel his arm and procet presence will be his strongest attributes that he uses on to be a elite QB. Once his accuracy improves more he will be a nightmare to stop... Cam's ceiling is crazy high.

Dude, if you can't acknowledge Cam's running vision then there really is no point talking....

And no, his running ability hasn't regressed. Chud is calling painfully obvious draws though.....

And yeah, we do need to run 2 TE sets. Adds a blocker or gives Cam another mid level target and e prefers those over RB checkdowns. Suits him better.

Carolina's offense rolled last year and Cam targeted TEs more than almost any team in the NFL.....

RGIII has speed. He isn't as good of a runner as Cam or a young Vick. Claiming otherwise is just getting too caught up in a 5 game hype window or bashing window. Nothing more. RGIII if he runs will be just like Vick....and will spend a career banged up. RGIII is more track runner than the other 2. Other 2 have better vision and moves....Cam uniquely built to actually last.

Cam > Vick> RGIII as runners overall. But enjoy overreacting to a small window of time if you please

As he ages I expect he will be more selective but sprinkle it in like Steve Young. Young rushed 70 times as a 14 yr old vet.

Newton's numbers will be comical big picture. I just think it is funny how people have turned on him essentially bc of 2 games NY and Sea. Probably 2 of the top 3 defensive lines in te NFL. Newton had stinkers last year too.....happens with young QBs (even the greats)
