If Joe Adams if not active this week, I will ......

I'm pretty sure they practice almost daily.

No doubt, but kid needs to be out there with the bullets flying to learn to game.

Unless they figure that with our ST play he is going to die trying to actually return instead of fair catching everything.

I would assume it's the type of thing where the coaches believe they have enough to overcome without the risk of giving the ball to the other team on the 20 yard line several times a game. He could be dropping balls in practice too for all we know.

Steve Smith was actually a good returner who was producing. Adams was fumbling it and running sideways and backwards.

My point still stands. Smith averaged a fumble every other game as a rookie returner.

Now, Joe has to prove to be a playmaker worth the occasional mishandle. But he needs the chance to prove if he is the playmaker we drafted. He deserves more of a shot.....than being benched bc of the NY game.

He was givin multiple opportunies, he didn't take advantage of any of them.

Also this isn't college.

5 punt returns.....flat out isn't giving him a real chance (and 1 of those measly 5 was a 20+ yard return).

Multiple opportunities isn't turning him into a KR and then benching bc of one bad game early in your rookie season....

Let him be what we drafted.... a punt returner and let him have more than 1 bad performance before replacing him.

I'm not saying kick him off the team, he is a rookie after all.

But he is not performing at a level that can win us games, we cannot be using our players as try-outs for spots during regular season games, he got his opportunies this year and he blew it, i say give him another shot next year, but this year unless something bad happens, Injury/bad mistakes from other returners, he should sit.

He is a punt returner. Simple and plain.

He has 5 returns and one went 20+.

Good returners....like Smitty drop the rock like its hot. Adams needs a shot to show if he is the playmaker at PR we drafted....he hasn't gotten it.

He doesn't need to do kickoffs. He wasn't a KO specialist in college. Most of his opportunities have been doing that.

He needs a shot at being our PR guy. He hasn't been given a fair shot at PR.

If the reward isn't worth the risk....so be it. But we don't know that yet
