Andy Reid or Norv Turner.. Which would you pick?

I think if we go in a new direction at HC we should go with a experienced ex HC that could contribute right away as opposed with rolling the dice on yet another coordinator. It seemed to work wonders for Denver picking up Fox after a 2-14 season here in Carolina. Both the Chargers and Eagles are playing pretty good at the moment, but if one them collapses and end up with yet another "close but no cigar" seasons as it relates to making the playoffs, I could see one if not both of these guys avaliable for a new HC gig next year. If so, who would you guys choose between the two?

Im torn really.. A part of me sees Norv Turner as a safer and overall more consistent (yet underachieving) prospect but Andy Reid has more name recognition and has experience with QBs that fit Cam's skill set more in Mcnabb and Vick (yes I realize they are all black QBs so no I do not mean skin color when I say "skill set", they just all 3 happen to really have similar skill sets). Nonetheless Im cnonfident we would see immediate improvement with either coach. Maybe not the playoffs first go around but I could see first season 8-8 and the next season a legitimate playoff push.

Not to derail your thread...but I'm gonna go ahead and do that.

Stylistically what exactly is the similarity between Mike Vick and Cam Newton?

I thought we did this to death during the pre-draft process. Vick and Newton are not similar except in the fact that they can run...and they even do that differently.

*edit*

Also I wouldn't touch either of them with someone else's 10 foot pole.

People seriously wouldn't pick the coach whose team makes the playoffs damn near every year?!

Reid has his issues but this isn't even a debate. Andy Reid and it isn't close. This isn't tough at all. Out of 13 seasons, he's only missed the postseason 4 times. 5 NFC Championship games, 1 Super Bowl appearance. Again he has his flaws (time management, struggles when initial gameplan doesn't work) but he's still one of the best coaches.

Reid is the beneficiary of a very well run personnel system in Philly. I have my doubts as to whether he'd be able to duplicate his successes away from that system.

Add in that he's one of those coaches whose teams always look great in the regular season but all too often fold in the playoffs.

Turner? As an OC? Sure. Head coach? Nah.

We were last year :(

I agree.

The only thing I can figure is it's a combo of a few things.

Cam has regress a bit, and is not comfortable with them opening the playbook more.

SS has lost some of the wheels, and cannot create separation down field. (a must in that O)

The line outside of Gross and Kalil is made up of rooks or below average players and cannot defend the 5 and 7 step drops.

Those are the things that will kill coryell's/Turners O.
