Anyone else tired of Smitty?

When has Smitty attitude ever been detrimental to the team. The man has played his but off every year, lead the team every year other than the broken leg year, and you morons are saying that replacing him will be better for the team. You think that we suck now, where the heck would we be if we didn't have Smitty. You've seen our attempt at replacing Moose, you really think that we can replace 89? There isn't a defense that we play that doesn't gameplan to contain 89...

Plenty of teams do fine without Steve Smith on their team. It isn't like the day he leaves, we won't have a chance of winning. From his play so far this year, it is definitively a position we need to upgrade. There are dozens of WR's out there who could produce his production as Cam Newtons number 1 receiver without the drama.

so that punch left WR's open because Lucas was such a great CB and if memory serves me, we struggled while Smith was out. I'm not saying Smith doesn't have anger issues but he plys angry. It's not a switch, it's him.

Nope, we went 2-0 without him. Delhomme spread the ball around, and Rosario became huge. Then Smith came back getting 10+ targets a game.

You ppl kill me with this BS. Smith has anger issues no doubt but I'm good wit that cause he takes it out on opposing DB's. Smith is one of the best WR in the league and yall want to point to him as our problem, get real. Our problem is us getting out coached, again this year. A 2nd is poor execution. A 3rd is poor defensive coaching & execution. A 4th is poor tackling. A 5th is...aww hell thts enough, but none of these is because of our best WR in Franchise History. Fans my a#@

I love Smitty, but Im with CRA, hes having a lackluster year (drops, no TDs thru 6 weeks, fanning flamez at our QB). If he cant step up and play better maybe he should retire. Im tired pf long time vets who arent helping us win get passes for it.

He hasn't exactly had a QB that has done his part this season.

For whatever reason, tge entire team seems out if sorts.

Cam has played sub par. Smitty has played sub par. The OL has played sub par. Beason has played sub par. Gamble has played sub par. And the decent guts we have are all playin just ok.

There is a littering with this team right now.

Fixed it. Those are issues he had with players, but he also had an issue with his contract before, and asked to be traded, so he has also had issues with the FO. I'm sure that there is a bunch of drama that hasn't been released.

I'm not going to mindlessly support the best receiver in franchise history just because. If Carruth was the best in history, he would still be a POS. I support good production. I gave up on Steve a long time ago, and his prime is over with. Sorry your feelings get hurt, but buck up like your hero because he doesn't give a poo about anyone's opinion but his.

Yes he's had issues with players: Bright and Lucus - ironically they were both underachieving at their positions. I don't consider Delhomme and Cam issues other than they were not playing to expections as well. And not only, Smith's expections but yours and mine as well. And lastly, him asking for a trade and quote/unquote having a problem with the FO, in my opinion was more due to his involvement in the gameplan that year. His production fell off drastically because we ran the ball alot more. He was being used as a decoy and not a WR, of course he was upset. Any top player in the league would have issues if they aren't being allowed to contribute, not just Smith. All I'm saying is that we have far bigger problems than Steve Smith and our fans want to get rid of the best WR we've ever had. No he's not in his prime any longer but he's still better than alot of WR in their prime. Focus on the problem, cause it isn't Steve Smith.

Hate to say it but his talent has for the most part been wasted here. His best production years came when we had an average at best QB (Delhomme). Smith's play made Jake look a lot better than he was. The frustratingly simplistic offense we had going in Fox's last couple years made him want to leave. He sticks it out with the promise of a revamped offense under a new coach and last year was a huge step in the right direction. 2012... he realizes the potential this offense has yet it's wasted in the asinine way in which it's used, so I'm sure he's a little more than frustrated. At the play calling but probably more so at the seemingly ho-hum, new "It is what it is" man.

You aren't giving Delhomme enough credit. Pre-Tommy John he wasn't average at best.....your Smitty man love and AZ is clouding your judgement.

Smitty didn't make Delhomme....Delhomme's career high in yards and TDs both occured in 2004 WITHOUT Smith. Jake could play.

Yes. I tired of a guy who wants to win and has been the heart and soul of this team for years... Jesus our fans whine to much

Most players want to win....

The routine is old that just bc a WR can play great.....that it somehow means he has no flaws and can't often have a negative impact. Smitty is like many in that regard.

And he has hurt us just as much as helped the past 3 weeks....just reality. He doesn't get a pass bc of something he did another season
