Probability of the Panthers winning at least 4 games this season...

They will make some kind of small run at the end of the season and everyone will be excited about all of our new talent and the staff and management will feel no need to make any serious effort at improving the roster and then we will trade more future draft picks on some mediocre to downright bad undersized no name player. A member of the one of the lines will be let go and will be replaced with someone with the last name of Williams. Rivera and Hurney will look at each other shrug and ask each other "Are we missing something?" because they think everything is just great.

Defensively, we see a staff adjusting....

Biggest issue seems to be Chud and his failure to adjust back to the formations and postion he put players in last year vs this year

It took him 3 weeks to adjust and a thinking man would say Rivera is helping out.

Not really, defensively we haven't brought the same thing every week.....hasn't always worked but there is clear effort and you can see a defensive staff trying to figure out things.

Also, players have let the D down....they often have been out in position to make plays and failed. I got no issue with the D coaching this year.....they still are trying to work around big holes at S (which isn't easy) and have a rookie CB.

Good points.

Hurney has gotten just about all the mileage he can out of our Super Bowl run, now almost a decade ago. Without that event, I feel sure he would no longer be part of the Panthers organization.

It is interesting that he has benefited greatly from several key players drafted prior to his time and has repeatedly failed to find anyone comparable to replace those individuals during his extended time in charge.

I have been screaming this for years.

Jenkins: Never replaced.

Smith: Still playing, never replaced.

Morgan: Replaced, but with 2 first round draft picks.

Moose: Never replaced, we will see about Lafell.

Kasay: Still looking.

Peppers: No brainer pick, and has not replaced.

Minter: Never replaced.

Although the numbers don't support it, I believe that this team is better than what was placed on the field than last year.

Through the first 5 weeks last year, we were 1-4 and were outscored 122 to 132 (-10)

Through the first 5 weeks this year, we are 1-4 and are outscored 92-125 (-33)

We didn't win our second game until week 7 and our third game until week 12 with the 4th win coming at week 13.

I definitely think we will get our 4th win before week 12. Our week 12 this year is our Monday night football against Philadelphia. Call me the optimist but I don't see why we cannot go 5-5 heading into week 12.

Despite all this team's shortcomings with inaccurate passes, dropped balls, bad ball protection, missed tackles, crappy safety play, questionable play calling., etc. This team is good enough to stay close in games and that to me gives me a lot of hope. Staying close is not the same as winning but damnit we're knocking right at the door. We were a few plays away from being 4-1.

100% get to 4 wins before week 12.

WE JUST LOST RYAN, HOW WILL WE WIN 2 GAMES? XD

Ryan is a great player, but we sometimes forget that center is generally considered the least important of the offensive line positions.

We see tackles (often) and guards (occasionally) go in the first round but centers almost never go in the 1st. There were a couple in 2009, but overall for the last 10 years, there were fewer centers drafted than any position other than fullback.

We value Kalil because he's very good, but it shouldn't kill any team's chances because they lost their center.
