This man speaks the truth.

We have more than our fair share of weapons on offense. We need an offensive scheme that makes better use of our extremely good backfield than what we're running and we need Cam to go back to spreading the ball amongst receivers not named Smith.

The scheme I'm concerned about.

Cam will fix his issues. And I think you'll see it better pretty quick in a game where he's not running for his life / getting hit as much as he throws.

You do realize 4 of your 7 in your list lineup behind the center? ....2 - 3 are in the sideline about 95% of the time.

Smith, LaFell, Olsen....those are his real targets

agreed, but chud's not the only one with his head up his ass. cam and smitty both have that problem as well.

Don't leave out our 3 backs that have all missed easy passes and/or fumbled. I also can't remember Kalil letting so many guys get by him on the rush in the past.

That's why I say it's a system problem. We are seeing too many guys that have performed very well in the past playing like crap.

And Lafell hasn't did a damn thing, neither has Murphy. I'm talking receivers. We need a sure 1st round pick receiver... 2 at this rate

what is poor is so many of you posters are giving Cam a pass and blaming on play calling and not even considering execution. That is lazy at best.

Play calling makes Cam fumble.

Just imagine, Eil throws three ints and the Giants still won the game. How is that possible seeing their QB wasn't perfect in that game? Oh yes, the rest of the team actually stepped up and did their jobs. Amazing how that works.

Smitty is throwing temper tantrums because his game isn't going well..Cam has to step up..Kalil is out for the season. Cam has to step up. Defense isn't playing well..Cam has to step up. O-line is falling apart, Cam has to step up. Receivers can't seem to get themselves open, Cam has to step up.

Just read an article where Detriot is off this season. The article states that Johnson and Stafford are not connecting. No one seems to feel that Stafford should be carry the team all by himself. The Panthers must be a special bunch where their QB does all the work and everyone else simply show up.

And shouldn't the heading of this thread be, the REST of the Panthers need to step up their game to fill Kalil's absence? Like your QB isn't weighted down enough.

Until that last paragraph, you had me.

The offense is pooing the bed, big time. Until that changes. We are going to continue to struggle. When we struggle, the QB presses. When your QB presses, he struggles. When your QB struggles, he gets scrutinized. Throw in the Cam effect, and the attention is multiplied. Cam is only 23. That is a lot of added pressure for a 2nd year QB still trying to learn how to be an NFL QB.

All that said. When Cam gets back to having fun. We will get back to winning.

Which doesn't really mean much of anything honestly. Cam is being hurt by this stupid system as much as by anything else.

I dislike comparing players in the same position on different teams for a lot of reasons but this is the primary one (the same reason I can't stand having wins / losses blamed on one player). Who's to say if you brought one of those rookie QBs in here they're doing any better with that they're being given? Or that Cam doesn't do better in one of their systems?

The only thing realist about your comment, is the fact that Cam is a QB. Getting beat up is in the job discription. So the opportunity to get hurt is there.

Nothing we have seen as yet would lead you to believe Cam is GONNA get knocked out. But carry on.

RBs are also check down targets should they be short passing options. Deeper down the field is not a checkdown.

I completely and totally disagree with your assumption that an eligible receiver is not a target, but I completely and totally agree with the assessment about the 2 TE sets. I was hoping that Barnidge would develop, but now with him and Hartsock being free agents next season, my fingers are crossed that we'll sign a reliable free agent or draft a young stud TE (I like Dione Sims out of MSU, but mostly because he's huge).

I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself though. There's still 11 games left to be played and anybody can step up.
