Dash's 2013 Mock 1.0

Playoff hopes have been crushed. With that said, I am in going to turn to the only other enjoyable aspect of all this losing and look ahead to the draft.

Seems as though we will be picking any where from 6-10.

This puts us in a bad spot imo as the top 2 DT will be gone (Star & Hankins).

Alil to early to draft a FS (Reid or Mcdonald)

Round 1: WR Keenan Allen 6'2

Alittle hesitant about this pick. He isn't no Megatron. But the value is good and he will contribute right away. At the least he will make for a great #2.

Round 2: CB / S Xavier Rhodes 6'1

I think Rhodes has alot of potential at FS. Has the length and is great in coverage. Only question would be his tackling. Havent watched enough to know about that tho, but doesnt look bad on tape. At the very least I see him making a nice replacement to Gamble. If Mcdonald or Amerson is still on the board I wouldnt mind them as well. Looking at Waler's mock both of them are projected late 1st.

Round 4: OG Alvin Bailey 6'5 315

We need an upgrade at OG. Bailey is massive and quick and would fill the void nicely imo.

With this mock didnt get to address our need at DT. But solid every where else.

Rhodes will go in the 1st. And there's no way in hell I'd switch him to FS. Rhodes is a legit shutdown CB. I'm hoping Bacarri Rambo falls to the 3rd and we make a move for him.

He prob will go in the 1st.

Now thinking about it i'd rather move Norman to S than Rhodes.

Either way, I want Rhodes! lol

If you go WR high, you do it in the first. No more "just guys." Go for an elite prospect.

Allen has potential but has drawn comparisons to Steve Smith which instantly sends red flags through my mind. Wish Hunter would explode and show he's 100 percent, so I could start looking at that option, but the guy just hasn't been the same player.

I like it. Not bad at all. I could settle for this.

We need to start looking for that future no.1 WR once Smitty leaves. Its like we keep saying this every year but it never happens.

Lafail has failed, he will never even be a legit no.2 receiver. Hes at best is a no.3 wr.

But I dont think that being a top 10 would be a bad position to still get a Star or Hankins. One of them will fall out the top 5. There are so much high prospect other than Star and Hankins that other teams will look at. A top 10 team, I can only see us, Tampa and maybe the Saints as a DT needy team. Players like Geno Smith, Mingo, Montgomery, and Jarvis Jones will force either a Hankins or Star to fall out the top 5.

Make it simple, we land a top 8 = good shape to still land Star or Hankins.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
