Take a deep breath...

Take a deep breath... it sucks to be 1-4 but we have 11 more games to play and a lot can happen over the course of 11 games, especially with a young and developing team.

NEWS FLASH: We're not going to win the SB this year, welcome back to reality!

The reality is that we were a 2-14 team in 2010 and we're in the 2nd year of rebuilding from that. At the moment, our fortunes rest on a lot of young players who are still trying to figure things out, most especially Cam, so back off and give the kid a little room to grow.

Yes he was the ROY, but year 2 is almost always the most difficult year in a QB's career. Some of us were expecting him to be Aaron Rodgers this year and that was just silly.

I admit that I got caught up in some of the hype myself... we're not used to having such a high profile player. Cam doesn't suck, he's not a bust, he's just come back down to earth a little bit now that teams have seen what we do - so the next step is for us to adapt to that and we're in the process of doing that - but with a new coaching staff and a developing young team, there are a lot of moving parts.

Anyhow, I could go on and on - but the bottom line is this: Fan-up, take a deep breath and hang in there... better days are coming soon.

...Pessimism is the safe, easy stance for most beliefs. If you are optimistic, and wrong, you're a fool. If you foresee doom that never occurs, nobody bothers to correct your errors.

It’s easier to see why pessimism is fashionable, if you think in terms of game theory. The pessimist, if wrong, suffers little public humiliation. He may even be praised for alerting society to possible danger. The optimist is a fool when wrong and receives little praise for correct predictions.

Given these uneven outcomes, it benefits people to appear overly pessimistic. After all, better to seem overly cautious than to be later made a fool.

I believe we all thought once we got Cam, it would be 3 years before the team was relevant. Now, we just need to patiently wait thru this year. I do want to see more progression than regression though.

@ the beginning of last year most of us accepted the notion that Cam was somewhat of a developmental project, he surprised us all and now we think he sucks because he isn't in the running for league MVP.

Again, not being cynical, just realistic, but What have you seen in this team that has given you any degree of hope that they will get better. Blind Optimism doesnt work.

I think it's more realistic to realize that it's too early in this process to draw any conclusions.

Was it realistic to assume that a 6-10 team in a tough division with a 2nd year QB could suddenly transform into a SB contender?

    • I would say you gotta add an "if" to XL. For brooks we can't say oh TD came back from 3 ACL injuries, brooks can do it. It just isn't that easy. Especially if we select a running back late this draft with it being s deep RB class. He won't play much in 2025 if he even plays at all, tough road ahead but i hope he comes back and proves the pick right. right now though unfortunately our first and second round picks don't seem to be trending in the right direction. Brooks more than XL, but XL still has a lot to prove. Hasn't had the best year, though his route running is somewhat better than expected. He is still raw and we knew that prior to the draft.

    • I call bullshit. Brady,Manning,Brees and Burrow are all just ball distributors. And the better thier supporting cast and more experience they got the better they got. Thier best attributes were between the ears.  Now I'm not saying Bryce is gonna turn into one of them but what I want is for him. Is to have a solid roster around him and some coaching continuity too see if he takes the next step. Because everything I've seen and read after the benching is that his mental toughness and workethic are what we need in a QB
