its time marty gtfo and he should have when we let go of fox.

We will not be truly rebuilding in another fashion until we have a new gm and new scouting dept.

i think the college scouting department earned a pass with this past draft.

i'm not sure scouting is the problem.

Good coaches, a GM and Owner who eventually woke up and figured out what they needed to do, solid drafting, good draft spots due to years of sucking, a young pro bowl WR, a very good QB, a destructive defense, and a young pro bowl RB that they use as their main weapon who also catches passes with ease. Good stadium and loud crowd to boot.

Basically us during our Super Bowl run but better and for real (they won't be a one-year wonder).

We could do this for every year - but let's take a look at their 2009 draft (a fair comparison as 4 years in the league is usually enough to see who cuts it vs. who doesn't)

1. Brian Cushing - starter

2. Connor Barwin - starter

3. Antoine Caldwell - starter

4. Glover Quin - starter

4. Anthony Hill - no longer with the team

5. James Casey - starter

6. Brice McCain - nickel corner

7. Troy Nolan - 3rd string

2. Everette Brown - colossal bust, no longer in the league

2. Sherrod Martin - currently in a rotation with the worst starting safety in football

3. Corvey Irvin - no longer in the league

4. Mike Goodson - decent player who is now a backup for the raiders

4. Tony Fiametta - cut by the panthers, is barely still in the league

5. Duke Robinson - no longer in the league

7. Captain Munnerlyn - nickel corner, occasional starter, and sadly the best player we got in this draft

God this is disgusting.

They got to where they are by not bricking on 9 out of every 10 draft picks the past 6 years. They draft guys that are able to contribute at the nfl level, some even become elite. We draft guys that are out of the league in a few seasons.

Bingo!.. this is an example of building through the draft... not the bill of goods we were sold...

this is kubiak's first HC gig. he inherited a 2-14 team. he brought them up to 6-10 his first year. 8-8 his 2nd and 3rd years and didn't have a winning season until his 4th season. they didn't get into the playoffs until his 6th season and now they are considered the best in the league.

it took time and a lot of patience, but it paid off. people around here would probably have been calling for his head a long time before that because they want/feel they deserve immediate results. kubiak did nothing as far as record is concerned to show he deserved that much time but they gave it to him anyways and it's paying off.

If you ever visited the Houston Texans board before last year, they had dozens of posters with "Fire Kubiak" sigs and avs. The funny thing is that Kubiak would have likely been fired if there wasn't the threat of a lockout last year. Same thing for Marvin Lewis, and maybe even Tom Coughlin.

Lol holy poo. Somebody email this to [email protected] and try to get it in front of Hurney. He needs to see his own bullshit in written English. Our scouting department is ass. Although I will give them a thumbs up for Byron Bell.
