clean house? trade Cam, fire the coaching staff? This is the NFL, I actually just read a clean house thread that said the team didnt have talent. what a joke, the D is getting better and Cam just has to take the single and doubles and stop shooting for the homerun. We saw what happened when everybody said he would be a bust, now we have a perfect bye week for him to clear his head and think god all of these idiots are talking crap because he will feed off of it.

We deserve better? no they deserve better.....better fans.........my bro in law was right and thats said, he said we have the most fairweather fans in the NFL and look outside its raining so you guys should cry about it.

O socres 40 points and you guys: "beast mode baby, CHUD is the man I hope he doesnt leave"

O doesnt execute, THE SAME PLAYS: "fire CHUD, we suck, trade Cam"

what a joke

The huddle server couldnt handle so many cry babies yesterday. I am gearing up for Dallas while you guys talk about your 2nd favorite team.

Win and it all goes away.

this is true, but the fans aren't helping much. we've got a whole lot of limp dick whiny bitches for fans and too many PSL owners who i think get a kick out of getting their tickets into the hands of non-panther fans.

i've got to say, though, we don't exactly have the glorious history or present to give reason for that to be any different.

the highlight of the franchises history is almost winning the superbowl one year about a decade ago.

this will change, but it needs to happen soon.

Oh look, another thread bitching about the fanbase. We usually get these threads on sunday afternoon after a loss. Weird that it's posted on tuesday from somebody claiming to be 'gearing up for dallas'.

it's going to be a long bye week.

i just hope the team is being more proactive and optimistic than the fan base is.

If some people can bitch about everything under the sun, especially the flip-floppers from week to week, then it's not a stretch to believe that some people will take issue with it. Fair weather fans, an under-performing team...it's all fair game.

Well, as a general rule of thumb, things are never as bad as they seem.

It just looks like to me when I watch the Panthers this year, I get the impression that these Panthers really just don't care. They play like they are collecting their "Top 5 paycheck in the league" and going about the motions to get said checks. It was so bad Sunday, I fell asleep sometime in the 2nd quarter, woke up in the 4th and happened to watch a series before choosing to go back to sleep. I can't remember ever doing that during a Panthers game, TBH....lol....sleep was more entertaining than the Panthers this weekend and I really hate that . So much potential (ugh, that word)....

Bottom line, as a whole, I think this whole season is a case of "Who the fug farted in here??"

Totally agree with OP. We need some perspective as a fanbase. We're two plays away from being 3-2 instead of 1-4. If we prevent the bomb from Atlanta when they're pinned at the 1yd line we win that game, great win on the road... Cam doesn't one hop to wide open Hartsock we likely beat Seattle and head into the bye 3-2 on a two game W streak. Yes, I know that's not what happened, but two plays going the other way and everyone's mood is different and optimistic. We have a young team, a young coaching staff, and a second year QB. Sophomore slumps are nothing new, Cam has the talent to win as well as the rest of this team. We just need a couple bounces and we will get them. Cheer up and realize we are heading in the right direction, it's not a total loss just because your expectations weren't met.

There were lots of callers bitching about our fans yesterday implying that the mediocre fan base is rubbing off on the players. I don't buy it. Until we get some history behind us mediocre franchise means mediocre fans.

That isn't true in a place like Cleveland where the NFL has 4 generations of fans

We do have way too many opposing fans in our house on a weekly basis. I would never sell my tix to the enemy.

And the panthers call themselves an NFL franchise? Until they stop embarrassing themselves every week perhaps they should be thankful they have any fans left in the first place.

Arguably, the only real embarrassment has been the Giants game. We had an opportunity to win in all the others, but fail short. That's really not uncommon with a team and coaching staff as young as the Panthers. We are going through growing pains, it's as simple as that.

The fans are just, well being fans. There's no guideline on how to be one and to parallel people's attitudes as fans to how a team performs is nonsense. You're on a message board not a "true fan" town hall meeting...people need to get over this stupid fan v. fan crap blabbering about how they know how to be a true fan or whatever....and the idea that the attitude of what we call a fan base is causing the team to underperform is bs bottom line. Project, predict, theorize, discuss...but stop bitching at your own fanbase

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
