JR needs to clean house ....and fast

While I have my criticism of JR, he did what he was supposed to do and opened his checkbook.

You can argue that he is paying the wrong people, but at least he didn't go cheap.

If we have our 3rd losing season them some change has to be made. Hurney is the obvious choice.

I think Rivera should get 3 years and that is it.

So unless we have a miracle this year, fire Hurney January 2013 and Rivera is on notice for January 2014.

New GMs like to bring there own guys in. Also Rivera is the lowest paid coach in the NFL. We got what we paid for in that regard.

Sparano 25-34

Mike Mularky 14-18

Mike Singletary 13-12

Lane Kiffin 5-15

Tom Cable 9-19

Bill Callahan 15-17

MArty Morningweg 5-27

Nick Saban * 15-17

Spurrier 12-20

Marty Morninwheg sealed his fate with the dumb OT decision of deciding to kickoff in winning the toss.

Mularkey, Spurrier, and Saban all resigned and weren't fired.

Singletary and Cable were "interim" head coaches who had a little bit of success and got to shed the interim label, but were on a short leash. You'll see the same thing when the Chiefs fire Romeo Crennell shortly.

Callahan, Kiffin (and Cable) were all part of the years where Al Davis was going senile.

My beef is the team is getting worse instead of better.I was not one that expected a 10-6 season but I did expect to see a more disciplined fundamentally sound team.We had players back from injury,a decent draft, and very few injuries this year so why should we not expect better results?

Agreed and understandable. Despite this past April's draft, one of the biggest problems is we don't have the talent needed at critical spot e.g. OL/DL and DB. The injuries we had at LB forced us to go with Keuchly although we have great need at those spots.

We got to keep in mind this team is trying to build for the future and doing so means (at least for us) sacrificing short-term results. While our offense has clearly taken a step or two back, the DEF/ST seems to improving slowly but surely. We need to give the current regime more time IMO.

We have talent. The team just doesn't seem to have an identity.

I honestly don't know if JR will make a move even next year. He seems more concerned about the money and hiring cast off coaches nobody else wants. Our head coach, our OC and our DC were all fired at one point. If he does make moves, Hurney needs to be the first. I want a head coach with actual head coaching experience.

So basically you want a head coach that has been FIRED?

Can you please tell me where in my post I said that. There is such a thing as a contract expiring. Is this all you took from the thread, I suppose you aren't at all concerned with the direction of this team and our staff?

Disagree with the bolded

-Our Top 5 offense turned into a Bottom 10 offense literally overnight

-Defense and STs are still below average

-Our currently 3-year to build for the future is FAILING

Sorry, but if the team quits on Rivera in the 2nd half of our season, this whole regime needs to be let go (Hurney/Rivera/Chud/etc.)

No doubt talent plays into the equation but this ship is sinking fast.If we turn around and get our offense together I think Rivera is safe for another year but if we continue to regress I think it sends a clear message that Rivera is not right for the job.
