JR needs to clean house ....and fast

As I read all the hate threads against players especially ones that are proven in the past to be good it illustrates how much of a win now this league is with good reason. The fans and PSL holders deserve a better product than this but will JR act fast enough to salvage the players and fan base?

I am sure some of our demise lays with JR however I do not see him firing himself. It is pretty obvious that this team is lacking both talent and coaching to be competitive.

1. Hurney has had ample time to put talent required to be competitive but it is clear by observing our secondary he has failed to do so.

2.Rivera is a heralded as a good DC but head coach he is not.He seems lost and unable to slow down this train wreck. His team is at the bottom of the league in stats such as tackling and fundamental football not to mention to motivate his players. It is imperative that JR not repeat his mistake of letting Rivera remain as a lame duck as he did with Fox.I would love to see what he could do as a DC but I dont see that happening.

3.The fans need need to unite behind a common cause and quit blaming random players. This is very similar to the situation the 49ers were in just 2 years ago when Riveras teammate was at the helm.In summary throw the right people under the bus.

We have talent. The team just doesn't seem to have an identity.

I honestly don't know if JR will make a move even next year. He seems more concerned about the money and hiring cast off coaches nobody else wants. Our head coach, our OC and our DC were all fired at one point. If he does make moves, Hurney needs to be the first. I want a head coach with actual head coaching experience.

But here is the problem. JR IS the problem! He runs this team as though hes a lame duck owner with nothing to lose. He has no vision for the future and until he is gone we will be stuck in mediocrity. What other team goes 2-14, fire the coaching staff but keeps the GM? Oh and BTW to add insult to injury, that Gam then goes and pays franchise record contracts to the same team that went 2-14. Mind boggling. JR IS the problem.

I know JR is a big part of the problem but he is not going to fire himself. At his age I just hope he will realize that his experiments have not worked and hire a competent staff.I imagine attendance will now start falling and he will be for forced to act.

Based on what we've seen throughout the history of this franchise, nothing suggests that JR will do anything about this. As long as Hurney is safe and free from blame (besides what he puts on himself), then nothing below Hurney will change with haste.

JR looks in his hand and sees what money he has in it. He knows he has to pay out x to players...x to head coach/coaches...x to front office...x to GM. Any one of those scenarios that require him to pay 2x for any of those he will not do.

He's old business model. If anything we should've taken from the JR press conference debacle was 1) he admitted he was too cheap to fire a head coach that wasn't doing what was asked of him mid-season because he would've been forced to pay two head coach salaries 2) he has a penchant for young lady reporters 3) has a complete disgust for players that have opinions in negotiations while belittling their ability to understand business 4) has a complete disconnect from recognizing and putting a winning product on the field because he sees it solely as a venue/entertainment. "Harbaugh who?" JR is no Bob Kraft. As much as we gripe and go on about Jerry Jones...at least he really shows like he gives a crap and will make moves that he believes puts him in the best position to win. His negative is that he sometimes pretends to be a GM instead of an owner, but at least he gives as much of a crap as does his fans.

I appreciate the fact that JR got the NFL to come to Charlotte. Nothing will ever take that away. We're a franchise....not the NFL now. We don't go to games to cheer for the NFL. We go to games to cheer for the Panthers. We don't go to the game to show homage to JR and his glorious Bojangles money and his NFL connections that got us a team. We go to cheer for the Panthers. We cheer for the Panthers despite him.

While I have my criticism of JR, he did what he was supposed to do and opened his checkbook.

You can argue that he is paying the wrong people, but at least he didn't go cheap.

If we have our 3rd losing season them some change has to be made. Hurney is the obvious choice.

I think Rivera should get 3 years and that is it.

So unless we have a miracle this year, fire Hurney January 2013 and Rivera is on notice for January 2014.
