Alright, I'm over Sunday already. Bad taste in my mouth, but I'm done reflecting on it. We have a tough game out of the bye, but we have time to prepare. The Cowboys are a good game to test our mental toughness and our ability to fix this season. If we want to salvage this season and make any run at being competitive again THIS season, we have to get a win there. Now, the Cowgirls are NOT a bad team. They have a running game that could give us trouble and Romo, while not stellar, can do enough to move the football. Gamble needs to get healthy. We saw what losing him does to our already pitiful secondary. We need to be able to take away at least one threat, and Gamble is the man for the job there. Also, start Martin. Nakamura has proven he is worthless and Martin, while not great, at least puts himself in position to make a quick tackle and can lay the wood. Also, feel a bit better with him in coverage as opposed to Naka.

Offensively...Chud needs to wake up. The OL needs to wake up. Until those two things get done, we won't get better. An interesting point I heard on ESPN today, Cam's QBR is only 4 points lower now than it was at this point last season. Cam is not our problem. He had a bad game, but that is all it was. And even then, it wasn't AS bad as the stats looked. He wasn't very accurate, but there were some drops that should have been catches and there were a few batted balls at the line. Turn those into completions (the likely outcome had they not been dropped/batted), and Cam's numbers look better and we maybe drive a bit more than we did. All that is really moot, though. Our RBs are not a problem. There isn't really anywhere to run (which comes down to a combo of playcalling and lack of run blocking up front). It truly comes down to Chud and the OL. That is where our offensive woes are. We have receivers that CAN get open. Just have to call the right plays at the right time.

Special teams needs to be stressed this week. That is something that must get better. It hasn't been horrible, but our coverage teams leave something to be desired. Return game is average, and could be better, but it hasn't been a back-breaking issue as it has been in the past.

Here is to hoping Chud can prove me wrong. At this point, I've lost all hope in him. He has sold out on being gimmicky. Not the read-option stuff. That play is essential to utilizing Cam's running ability. However, we are running it WAY TOO MUCH. It should be a play that we run a few times a game, but not as our base running play (beat a dead horse, I know). The gimmicky I refer to are his cutesy plays that take 4 seconds to develop or more. Double screens, double fake handoffs. poo like that. Stop that. Run a few conventional plays. You don't have your usual NFL QB, sure. However, that doesn't mean you have to call plays like you're playing a game of NCAA '13.

TL;DR: Let's recover from this and try to find something to root for. Sure, it sucks that it's mostly rooting for the coaching staff to get it together, but that is where we are. If they improve, we have the talent to win football games.

I can only look back :/

Let it go, brother. It's done, no point in arguing with each other about hypothetical situations and other pointless BS. Gotta keep trucking forward with the season. As hard as each of these losses is on me, I still find some excitement on game day. Maybe it's just my love for the game and my team, maybe it's some hope deep down.

You know what Bane said in The Dark Knight Rises, "without hope, there can be no true suffering".

There's no hope for this season man, too late to turn it around now and not enough quality players/coaching

I disagree, There's talent, it's just not being used properly. Our playbook needs to be used, not just 3 pages of it.

Coaching staff needs to get their heads out of their ass and focus. Our players are talented. There's a funk in that team that i can't explain. But it's there, once that is gone this team will start winning games.

The end is nigh for this season, sure; however, the season isn't lost yet. There is still time. We just need to have a sense of urgency and a desire to win NOW from the coaching staff. I almost feel like Chud/Rivera is doing this poo on purpose. Week in, week out......same fuging thing. Same stupid play-calling with the same outcome. Our talent makes the score physically look closer, but that is a product of our talent overcoming bad coaching. And even if the score looks closer...the games don't look closer at all. It looks embarrassing.

It's like watching a twisted psychology experiment, seeing how many beatings fans here can take and still retain an optimistic outlook.

Somebody has to maintain a little balance around here. There is cause for optimism if you look outside of the narrow-minded view of "we're screwed". I understand the issues and I understand we HAVE to get better, and I'm not forgiving Rivera nor Chud until I see improvement, but I refuse to blame the players (save for the OL, because other than a few plays here and there, they've been poo) for the lack of offense and I am over blaming McDermott because 1) lack of talent in the secondary and 2) we've slowly improved as the season goes. Maybe it's just that the Seahawks offense is that bad, but I thought we looked OK on Sunday (and Kuechly is largely to credit there, I think). Not great, not even good, but OK. Enough to get us a win had we had a better day on offense. Hold a team to 16 points, especially when your offense isn't doing poo....yeah, that is a good day.
