Who's Idea was it...?

To use a read option as our base offense? Did they not notice what our offense was able to do last season?

And I thought the best thing to do for a struggling QB was to make it simple for him. Run the ball (the right way), screen passes, you know stuff to get his confidence up. Didn't Stewart catch a ton of passes last season?

Ahh I guess that makes too much sense...nvm

the thing about the screens is that every screen pass is horrible. and if it isn't horrible, one of the three backs is dropping it or completely whiffing on the ball.

probably the most annoying thing about the offense besides the whole too-much-option thing.

Watching Rivera's pressers are becoming extremely hard. It even felt like he threw Cam under the bus in his presser today.

Did anyone catch his excuse for not running a QB sneak? He actually had the nerve to bring up the size difference between Kalil and the Seahawks DT's.

We ran the ball undercenter with a fullback, maybe once all game, and we expected Seattle to bite on the playaction fake on 4th & 1?

Rivera is in over his head, and that's the bottom line.

We need to clean house. I'm actually a bigger McDermott fan, than Chud fan at this point. I actually think if it was up to McDermott, we would see more of that attacking style defense that they've been talking about.

i think part of cam's regression is that he's pretty much learning an entirely new offensive system in his second year. instead of letting cam build on last year's offense chudz has basically burnt it and started fresh.

keep last year's playbook, couple it with cam's familiarity, and we're talking a completely different offensive showing in a number of these dud games.

Actually, Mcdermotts defense has been pretty good of late, I think he just didnt have the personel last year. Judging by what hes got, hes doing a good job. Chud has regressed. I understand catering the playbook to your qb's strengths but when you cater it to much, you take away the strength of your other players. The read option isnt a bad play, just over used. The offensive line is not nearly as good as it was last year. There are no holes for the running backs and pressure is getting to cam on alot more pass plays. I would start there and see what player can help fix the Oline.

McD > Chud in 2012

I said it last year and this offseason....Chud rode Cam last year. Pretty much just put games on Cam and he just did his thing.....teams havent dealt with that before. He still pretty much has Cam just out there solo doing his thing...teams have studied Cam and Cam now needs a real gameplan

I fully believe that at least 1/2 of our lost games this year are directly attributable to this coaching staff - yeah there were mistakes on plays by players that you could argue lost us games, but every team has those sorts of player errors - the teams that are coached well overcome them and win amyway. We dont. We also can not hold onto late leads. That is coaching.

I agree with alot of the critism that we are taking this season. however, I think this fanbase must've gotten spoiled by fox going to the superbowl so quickly. I expect this team to get better each week and not be embarrassing. However i acknowledge the youth in our players as well as the youth in our coaches expierience. Maybe we are not going to win in the first year or two like we had hoped. But to assume that all these guys should be fired is not reasonable. This franchise needs to grow into a signature system, but it takes time when most of your competition is already established as veteran pros. We have the potential to become a storied franchise. But not if we change coaches and players like the lions do. We have some of the best in the business, it just may take longer than we had hoped.
