Cam forcing it to Smith

I feel like ever since Smith blew up on Cam during the giants game...Cam has been forcing it to Smith. There could be blanket coverage on 89 but Cam stares him down and fires it anyway.

Just not seeing the same guy from last season. Cam looks unsure of himself...looks like there's some doubt to him now....

It's like Cam is trying to make Smith happy or something...last season he threw to everyone. Even Stewart had 50 something catches...

Our entire scheme needs to be scrapped and we need to get back to a basic offense. One that takes the pressure off of Cam. Use the 100$ mil backfield. Spread the rock around. Keep it simple stupid

He's not forcing it to Smitty. Prior to today I've been wondering where the FUG Smitty has even been. Cam to Smitty is not an issue. Play calling is... That is keeping it plain and simole

Don't let those announcers fool you, guys had trouble getting open all day, including Olsen & Smitty, but Smitty gets opened more consistently, so what do you expect. Plus we got screwed with the PI no-call.

Our game plan totally sucked. We had a chance to put Seattle away and on the very first call, we ran an option. Now I know Chud was't the one that fumbled, but Seattle totally shut down all of our lateral run plays.

I said it once, and I'll say it again, Chud is going to get Rivera fired.

Foxball wins that game for us 10 times out of 10.

Related note: While it's nothing I could prove, some stuff I've observed in a couple of games makes me wonder whether Newton and Greg Olsen might not exactly be the best of friends.

Not saying that it's something game affecting, mind you (if it's even happening at all). It's just something of a vibe I get.

Olsen was wide open several times. But he forced it to Smith. Today, Smith hurt more than he helped the team. From his idiotic fights with the CB's to the drops he had today, to the dumbass penalties that killed some drives. He's not in the game and I don't know why. Last week he did the same poo. Actually most of the year he's been like this.

It really got to be annoying when the announcers kept pointing out how open Olsen was....and we didn't even look to his side of the field.

I agree, Last week Olsen seemed a little agitated with Newton, he was pissed about Cam not hiking the ball quickly, that ended up getting the Smith reception overruled. Greg was overly pissed. IMO

I don't think there is an issue between Olsen and Cam. I think there were a poo ton of designed plays to Smith. Just the way the routes were stacked, it seemed like Smith was the primary target a lot. Nobody was getting open. When Olsen was open on that seam, he got it to him. Had he ignored that seam route, I'd say there is something to that, but that isn't the case.

As far as forcing it to Smith, maybe. Nobody was ever REALLY open, save for a few plays. It comes down to play-calling. Chud was horrible today. On the goal line...Cam's bread and butter...Stew's bread and butter...Tolbert's bread and butter...neither of those three had a designed run on the goal line. Yet, you tried to power Williams through? Cam gets that in on a sneak 10/10. Tolbert/Stew get that in 8/10, at least. Not one attempt by any of those three? Unforgivable.

Chud has been getting really cute with his play calling lately. I mean that goal line play should have been Cam flying through, all you need is the tip to break the plane...(Not making a euphemistic reference either.) Hell Murphy should have been a little more aware of that, if he had stretched out before he went down he would have had the TD too.

What happened was....

Thread starter heard the announcer say it.... Decided there was no threads on the huddle about it and wanted there to be one. All along, the announcer was wrong.

That's one of the things that made me wonder, especially in light of last year's post-game 'FU' exchange between them. Plus body language and his not being targeted till late despite being open plenty (more open than Smith on more than one occasion).

Still, I wouldn't be ready to call it a theory at this point. It's just kind of a "hmmmm, I wonder if..." thing for the moment. Not something I'd take especially seriously with corroborating evidence.

I don't think it's the play calling. I think it's the whole design.

History tells me a college style offense can succeed temporarily the pros, but not long term.

They need to get back to good old-fashioned Coryell.
