Yup, It's the coaches

Your accuracy tends to drop when you're getting slammed to the ground and catching helmets on your chin after every throw. His ability and usually execution is still elite, in every aspect, even with the occasional flub in footwork... Stats up through this week show he actually is improving (there was a thread on it)... The problem is the playcalling.

The funny thing is, when we were all running around proclaiming Chud to be genius last year, none of us took time to ask why he was back as a TE coach where we could hire him and not an OC or HC. Why? Because he did the same thing in Cleveland. One good season, opponents have a year's worth of film on him, make adjustments accordingly, and Chud just keeps being Chud.

When we're sitting and watching a game, and you, as a fan, are able to call out what we're going to do on any given play 3-5 times in one drive, something is wrong. And opposing defenses definitely know what's coming. He's doing that to Cam, getting him beat up, and not giving him a fighting chance when he does step back to throw. It's really unfair.

i agree...he was way off today, that throw to the ground on 4th down...cmon man

the atl game, he played a perfect game minus the fumble....It was this game and the tampa game where he struggled....going back to last season, he sometimes makes throws that make me go, wtf...but I think it is on coaching to work with him on accuracy, footwork, decision making etc....

He literally got hit on every pass attempt vs Seattle. Tough to stand in the pocket with perfect technique when you're getting destroyed all game long

Joe Adams fumbles

Worst tackling team in the NFL

Inconsistency

Play calling

Scheme

It all goes back to having a dogshit coaching staff. It's the same stuff over and over. It never gets fixed

Pretty much this. Not nearly enough attention is being paid to the fact that we're predictable in our trickery and Cam was hit more times than he completed a pass today.

The load is not entirely off his shoulders but when you're getting beat up all game things tend to suffer and you regress.

Coaching is not the reason Cam fumbled last week...coaching is not the reason Smitty fumbled last week...coaching is not the reason Cam was overthrowing everything tonight...coaching is not the reason DWill fumbled tonight...coaching is not the reason the WR's and RB's kept dropping passes...coaching us not the reason that Can threw the ball into the turf when he had a wide open TE 5 yds in front of him.

This team has talent, but they are not executing.

Coaching has been lacking on this team, but that us only a small part of the problem.

lack of execution = lack of coaching....

Gotta disagree.

There are issues with the coaching, but you can't pin all our problems there.

Plenty of issues can be traced to talent, which essentially means traced to the front office.

No, coaching is far from blameless, but there's plenty of blame to go around.

I can't wait till the day I wake up to this turd Rivera being fired.

Rivera isn't responsible for all of the coaching problems this team has. I'm not terribly happy with the job his staff is doing but the blame for the coaching problems goes to his staff as a whole (for the most part).

There's also the fact that our front office has utterly neglected a few positions to consider. I do think the problem right now is largely with the coaching staff (even with our odd talent load we could be winning more games if we simply coached better) but there is some front office blame to be had.

This game has to be more on veteran players than the coaching. Coaching leaves a lot to be desired, don't get me wrong, but the players have to execute. You can't blame lack of execution totally on coaching (or lack thereof). This game was really about veteran players not doing their job by fumbling and dropping passes, and perhaps Cam's forcing of the ball to Smitty as opposed to checking down to Olsen and taking what the defense was giving him (IMHO). Moreover, people seem to be fogetting that we are still a very young team across the board whose FO, rightly or wrongly, has made the decision to go all in on rebuilding and developing from the ground up as opposed to sprinkling in some tried and and true free agents (except for Dwan Edwards who, in my mind, has been a great addition).

Like it or not, it's going to take some more time, but we are moving in the right direction. You just have to look through all the fog of youth on this team. We have been in every game except for one. A move here or there, and a little more execution at key times, and we could be 4-1 as opposed to 1-4. These are growing pains. If we look like poo after 2013, then start complaining, until then, just suck it up and observe the development.

Games have been won despite fumbles and interceptions....that's been happening for decades...Fumbles happen to the best of them. Heck, sometimes defense makes a great play...Typical example is the play-calls like the d-will option play...We've been trying it all game and it has not been working. So what does our OC do, call it one more time against the same package as well as the same personnel.... Cam pitched it to D-will knowing he had no chance and nowhere to go....The seahawks player went straight for the ball, because D-will needs some space to get going, the seahawks player was not gambling much by going after the ball...D-will was going nowhere

The issue is play-calling, the issue is discipline, the issue is adjustments/lack there of. I really thought Rivera would be the type of dude that would put his foot up these player's a$$es...What a let down

Don't get me wrong. I think the coaching has been severely lacking. BUT, the execution by this team has been just as bad if not worse.
